Captain Pedophile Alert
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

JoltinJoe wrote:Seriously, what a load. You mean the government prosecutors granted immunity to witnesses so as to secure their testimony in an investigation? This happens all the time. Prosecutors grant immunity to those considered material witnesses. This isn't done to "thwart" investigations, but instead it is done to aid investigators, so that they can get the information they want.

Immunity is offered to the witness not because the investigators believe that the witness has done anything wrong, but because they want the witness to testify completely without fear of withholding some facts because the witness fears they may incriminate him.

No attorney worth his salt allows his client to testify to an investigative panel without getting a grant of immunity. On the other hand, prosecutors don't grant immunity to witnesses that are actual targets of their investigation.

Move along. :coffee:
Nice oversimplification and strawman you evil fuck. Rot in hell you pedophile protecting motherfucker. God you are a collassal fuckhead. :ohno:

As I said before, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Catholic priests have been raping children on an industrial scale for centuries. Unfortunately for them, they no longer can murder people who disagree with the church.

Hen, Hogan, Andy and Joe - put a little extra in the collection basket this Sunday, you pieces of shit, your pope and his pedophiles are gonna need it.

Catholic Priest Abuse Cover Up
According to the ambassador the feeling in Ireland was very much one of resentment towards the Vatican because of the institutionalized cover-up of catholic priest abuse. The Murphy commission had found that the "maintenance of secrecy, the avoidance of scandal, the protection of the reputation of the church and the preservation of its assets" weighed more in the minds of church officials than justice for the victims.

Those within the church aware of Catholic priest abuse turned a "blind eye" while those who reported child abuse cases saw their complaints were not acted upon. Actually senior clergy, the commission had found, covered up the abuse for some 30 years. The church was allowed to operate beyond the reach of law. According to WikiLeaks leaked cable, the Vatican continued to complain that the Irish government did not respect its sovereignty.

WikiLeaks and Catholic Church Abuse Scandal
The US cable leaked by WikiLeaks is a window to the behind-the-scenes diplomacy that preceded the Pope's apology in March 2010. The Irish government wanted to be seen as co-operating in the investigation because its own education department was involved in the Catholic church abuse scandal. Government officials tried to persuade the Vatican to change tactics and take part in the catholic child abuse investigation.

In his March 2010 statement, the Pope apologised to the victims. But the ambassador did not think the crisis in the Irish Catholic church was over, as he stated in a section of the US cable released by WikiLeaks. He predicted that there would be more Catholic priest abuse revelations to plague the church for many years to come. The cable also refers to victims' associations which complained that the Pope did not issue an apology and that he did not order the removal of the remaining bishop accused of the cover-up.

The section of the cable entitled "Some Lessons Learnt" relates that the "Murphy Report reflects Irish shame over the collaboration of Ireland's state bodies, including its schools, courts and police, in the appalling abuses and cover-up that occurred for decades." On December 12, 2010 the Vatican described the US Embassy cable leaked by WikiLeaks as a matter of "extreme seriousness."

Uhh, wrong again, you evil fuck, pedophile protecting liar. :ohno: Looks like the Vatican, first ignored the requests, then demanded and recieved the luxury of NOT testifying. IYeah, asshole, the Vatican really "Aided" the investigation.

Helena Keleher, Fahey’s deputy, said the Irish government succumbed to pressure from the Vatican and granted them immunity from testifying, with the understanding that "foreign ambassadors are not required or expected to appear before national commissions.” Keleher believed that the clergy made the situation worse by ignoring the requests. :ohno:

Love this.....
In a section of the cable entitled "Some Lessons Learned, but Crisis Will Play Out for Years", the ambassador revealed that both his Vatican and Ireland contacts anticipated that the crisis in the church would be drawn out for several years, since the Murphy commission only dealt only with allegations from the Dublin archdiocese and that investigations into other archdioceses would lead, "officials in both states lament, to additional painful revelations.”
