It's easy to uderstand why Sox fans are such miserable, classless pricks. They are jealous, angry people at root. Boston is basically just a suburb of New York with none of New York's style and culture. In Boston, the pinnacle of culture is the Boston Pops. Besides, we've routinely kicked their asses for nearly a century now.

Why Phillies fans are almost as bad requires some study. Of course, the Phillies are the biggest losers in history and that has something to do with it, but it's not as if they lose to one team with the regularity of the Washington Generals -- like the Sox do.

Ultimately I think the reason that Phillies fans are such miserable, contentious people comes from the fact that they root for the only men's sports team in America with a female nickname.

Man, just getting to watch Joltin Joe implode with such bitter resentment is almost as good as Cliff Lee signing with the Phils. There's nothing better than seeing a NY fan grind his teeth and yell at walls when they can't just throw money at somebody and get them. And to think, pitchers and catchers don't report for another 2.5 months, so we get to watch Joe go through all the stages of grief during that time.
