Brett Saberhagen is still available as well.
So are:
Greg Maddux
Tom Glavine
Fernando Valenzuela
Orel Hersheiser
Bert Blyleven
Tommy John
Jim Palmer
Not Mike Hampton though. He's gonna be opening day starter for the 2001 WS Champion Arizona Diamondbacks.

Sad but expected.
Phillies fans have become as obnoxious as Red Sox fans.
Dude, you signed Cliff Lee, and this pathetic period of one WS win in the past 29 years is the "Golden Era of Phillies Baseball."
Whatever. You are still the Phillies. Losers from a southern New York suburb. A men's team with a female nickname.
And that's all you'll ever be.

Or as we refer to it, two WS wins in the past 30 years, with three WS losses thrown in.

Hey, Yanks are going to return the same team that finished two games short of the WS. And those two games were pitched by a guy in the NL now.
The Yankees are now the plain favorites in the AL to get to the WS.

Then the Yankees go from having three decent starters to two.

My bad. I neglected to account for Prior. Pettite can retire now with his mind at ease, not leaving his team's cupboard bare.

You never know, this could prove to be a worthwhile gamble for the Yankees.
Prior could always find his previous form...
From 2003.

And they're all a year older, a year slower, a year closer to the rocking chair (or in Pettite's case, the wheelchair).
