Just curious how everyone's teams are doing on the recruiting front.

YSU has offered 78 athletes scholarships.
Thus far, we have 11 commitments.

We got two huge ones today, and I mean literally:
OL Mark Pratt: 6'3" 325 Pounds
OL Lamar Mady: 6'4" 330 Pounds

All I know is we have 4 commits but no idea who they are.
We have 25 open scholarships for 2011 (14 graduated, 11 FBS schollies)

Our OC for RBs is the 'acting' coach and he is our recruiting co-ordinator anyway (has been for a few years)

That page is color-coded with my worst colorblind shades so I have no idea how many commits unless I read the whole thing. I stared pretty hard and I think we have three or four, but not certain. I know Farkas was a well-rated pickup from Florida.

Can't believe YSU has offered 78 guys scholarships. Even if they're mostly half rides, that would be 78 counters in one year if they all said yes, leaving only 7 other scholarship players allowed for the other four classes enrolled (85 limit). Maybe there are walk-on offers included there. How many scholarship players are returning to YSU next year?

Due to kids being kicked off the team and/or just leaving, YSU was playing with just 53 scholarship players this past year. That means we had 10 outstanding scholarships on the table, which translates into around 12-13 players. That, plus the number of seniors graduating, means YSU is expecting 30 commits and/or transfers.

I guess that's the scatter gun approach. Not sure how you work that. If 30 guys commit tomorrow, do you just tell the other 50 "sorry"? There's got to be some prioritization. What if the 30 who commit are your bottom 30 priorities? I'd have to guess that website doesn't have the story straight.

It's not all that unusual, especially if you have a large number of scholarships to give and do a lot of out of state recruiting...to fill 25 to 30 initials, you need to offer at least twice that amount given the average miss rate.

Trust me, we will be fine in filling these scholarships. Many of the 80 have committed elsewhere already.

Our offense is awesome. Our defense is just awful and you know it. I am with Coach Wolford in saying I believe the best overall team in the league actually was SDSU, despite their mediocre record. They are hard-nosed football players that give it their all.

App has 3 (unofficially), Shaquille Counts, Tucker Bolton, and Derek Evans. There are a good amount of reported offers, but these are the only 3 commits at this time (known).

Add another commitment for ASU...Kameron Bryant. This really tweaks the western carolina crowd, as they were sure that he would want to be in dullowhee.

We're actually right at 20, counting our mid-year JC signees, though we'll likely lose some and gain some as the recruiting food chain takes it's course...the aim is to sign around 30 in this class.

-Carson Bennett, one star QB from GA
6-0, 180 lbs.
-David Frazier, one star WR from SC
5-11, 170 lbs.
-Michael Crespi, ATH (no stars listed) from NY
5-11, 225 lbs.

Frazier finished the Shrine Bowl (between the best players from N.C. and S.C.) yesterday with six catches and 107 yards, both game-highs. No word on how Miles played.

Cal Poly has been pretty aggressive with recruiting and seem to BW making some noise this year. Several offers out and a few solid commits so far, most notable are two option QBs Tu'uta Inoke of Burbank High in Sacramento area and Chris Brown of Compton Dominguez. Both if these guys are big talents and both were recruited by FBS schools. I think they are pretty set at QB with Andre Broadous entering his Junior year but he will have some very solid competition.
