Re: Georgia Southern @ Delaware Official Semifinal Game Thre
When this matchup first became apparent last Saturday, I was pretty confident that Delaware matched up well with GSU and had a very good chance of winning this game. After reading a week's worth of threads on various boards, I'm now convinced the Hens are in for a major beatdown. It's obvious that Devlin is going to get killed out there and we have zero chance of even slowing down the triple option.
Maybe they will institute the mercy rule for this game and stop it early so too many of our guys don't get hurt. They really need to think of the best interest of our kids out there on the field. After all, it would be a travesty for a guy like Devlin to risk a potential pro career, literally running for his life on every down. I might not even watch, I think it will be too depressing.

Passing yards gained by teams with an unbalanced offense who are often playing from behind does not equate to a better passing attack. Delaware State is high on that list for gods sake.

Re: Georgia Southern @ Delaware Official Semifinal Game Thre
Pat's ability to be drafted will serve him as well as it did Joe's in 2007 (with regard to FCS playoff success, I mean)...that's the only point I'm trying to make. And the fact that DP has the same record against Nova as Devlin this year, so a slam on DP for losing to Nova can be used in the same manner against Devlin...fair enough?HenZoneNation wrote:Appaholic wrote:
So now it's dissolved into trashing AE...what a fokking joke. Flacco's success in the NFL isn't going to help Devlin or UD this weekend. But if you'd like to discuss who is the better pro QB, then move your idiocy to the Other Sports thread...or better yet, move it to an NFL board. Here, we are discussing FCS football. And when you go trashing AE to support your argument, you undermine any other valid point you may have made.
Wasn't trashing him at all...I've said on other boards I'd love to see him play... he was great. But where do you think he's headed?
I guess i have to be more clear with you. Clearly you get very frutsrated...When I bring up the Joe situation, it's because it's similiar to Pat's. If you look on draft sites, Pat is going to be drafted.
You're now 0-3...

Fair enough, but I would still put Elon's passing game ahead of y'all's. Riddle and Devlin are a statistical wash, but Mellette and Jeffcoat are better weapons than UD's receivers.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:Good lord.GSUhooligan wrote:

BTW: I wasn't saying everyone ahead of you has a better passing attack, but the teams we played that are ahead in YPG have very good passing attacks, especially Elon and UTC.

I can live with that...I think I'm inclined to look at how close the Nova/UD game was vs. the APPY/Nova...however, Nova didn't have a healthy #4 like they did vs. APPY...normally I don't put that much stock in anyone player but he's that good...I hope we get another shot at him.

Watch #19 tomorrow...White's a player...a big time player. We tend to use WR's by committee vs. having that one or two stud receivers. White could be special though.

We're talking about the co-champs of the CAA, or what it should be know as...the Atlantic Division in the NFL. Delaware is bigger, stronger, and faster than GSU. Devlin will be traded to the Carolina Panthers and is going to lead them to the Super Bowl next season. The only reason GSU is showing up is so our players can tell their grandkids they played against an NFL team.

At this point, I hope you don't get another shot. If you do and you win, I'll have to insert a double-helping of foot into mouth...
Good luck to you guys & Merry Christmas...

All kidding aside...it's gonna be an awesome game. I'm amped to see the Inferno tonight. Don't know who to pull for there...and with GSU, it should be a great, great game...I love the playoffs.

Agreed. This is a very intriguing game that could really go either way - I'm honestly not sure what to expect. I'm very much looking forward to watching this one.HenZoneNation wrote:All kidding aside...it's gonna be an awesome game. I'm amped to see the Inferno tonight. I guess we should be worried - Elon - who would have been an 8th-9th place team in the CAA had the second most passing yards in FCS. I guess that guy must be light years ahead of Devlin & a 1st round draft pick in April '11.

Man, after the last week here I don't know what team wouldn't be 8th or 9th place in the CAA. Why does the rest of the FCS world even try?bluehenbillk wrote:I guess we should be worried - Elon - who would have been an 8th-9th place team in the CAA had the second most passing yards in FCS. To be real, Elon lost a lot of close games and took Richmond to OT when the Spiders were healthy. They weren't a bad team by any stretch.bluehenbillk wrote:I guess we should be worried - Elon - who would have been an 8th-9th place team in the CAA had the second most passing yards in FCS. Elon was pretty young this year defensively and GSU's offense really took it to them especially on the perimeter.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:To be real, Elon lost a lot of close games and took Richmond to OT when the Spiders were healthy. Riddle can chunk it though, he's the SoCon's all time passing leader and the kid who replaced Hudgens- Millette- is a helluva receiver.

The Ticket is reporting that attendence could be between 13-14,000...more importantly the dorms are open now til Saturday. Hope this keeps the students around. They have been huge for crowd noise this year.
