The third tier is recessed; it is not like the old stadium, where the third tier was built directly over the second tier. So there is no way to spit from the third tier into that area, even if you are seated directly above it.
Maybe it was a magic loogie? Maybe there was a second spitter?
Considering this unrelenting attack by Joe on poor Mrs. Lee and her character, it's not surprising that they found Philadelphia as more welcoming and more fan friendly than the dark confines of New York and Yankee Stadium. And for less money to boot. Apparently, money does have its limits when it's trying to overcome such uncivil behavior as that which emanates from New York, and as seen on this board, by those who profess to be fans of New York sports teams. Good for the Lee's in choosing decency and respect, even if they had to leave money on the table to do so.

The spitting story broke back in October. If it was completely false I think the Lee's would have said that there was no spitting, period. But they didn't day that, they said that no one came up to and spit on Kristen.
The writers statement fits in with the story and the context of what the Lee's had to say.
People just don't go around spitting at sections below in Yankee Stadium. I've been there many, many times. I know the atmosphere. Yankee Stadium is also the most over-staffed facility I've ever seen when it comes to security. Even if some fan spit on a section below, he'd be on his way out of the stadium before his spit hit the concrete.
I've seen fans tossed for using vulgar language, without any warning. People who go there often enough know that security there does not tolerate the slightest incivilities.
It is for this reason that I doubted the spitting story when it broke. I took s*** here when I said I doubted the story.
Now I have Cliff Lee telling everyone that I was right. The story was "false."
So suck it. I was right.
So.. if someone spits and they are removed before the spit reaches its target the spitting never happened? lol
Also... about the vulgar language and security not tolerating the slightest incivilities... does that mean the whole section that chanted obscenities as the Red Sox fan walked through in the video were tossed from the stadium?.... didnt think so.
Joe on any other topic, you are a nice guy.... when it comes to your Yankees.... you are the biggest homer there is... your team and its fans can do no wrong.

Nobody spit on his wife is not the same as nobody spit.
I assume that you are just playing dumb on purpose, which is fine with me. I'm more than happy to pad my post count while you intentionally make yourself look foolish.

Were you right when you said Lee would be a Yankee in 2011?
Who knows? He might get traded to the Yankees after the Phils give up on the season.
Nah, the Yankees don't have anyone the Phils would want. Maybe if they had signed Jayson Werth or Carl Crawford, but alas, they are stuck with a bunch of over the hill guys, A-Roid and spitting fans tht nobody wants.

Well, T, everyone on this board plays a role. Mine is the windy, arrogant Yankee fan. That's what the people want from a Yankee fan; so that's what I give them.
But I was right about the spitting story, wasn't I? I said I doubted it was true; now Cliff Lee says it was false, and everyone but BlueHen86 has written the story off.
Yes, this thread is a tacky victory dance. That's my job around here.

Everyone would write the story off, but you keep responding to posts so the story lives on. Keep up the good work, I'm closing in on 7000 posts (I guess that you could say I'm within spitting distance of 7000).
