If the NCAA ran a FBS playoff....

Post by FargoBison »

Since the FBS has 11 conferences there would be 11 autos and 11 at large spots.

FIU/Nebraska vs 1. Aurburn
Arkansas vs Oklahoma

UConn/Va Tech vs 4.Wisconsin
Boise St/Texas A&M vs 5. Stanford

Nevada/Oklahoma St vs 3.TCU
UCF/Alabama vs 6. Ohio St

Miami(oh)/Mizzou vs 2. Oregon
Michigan St vs LSU

Why 22? Wouldn't 24 be easier?

It seems like everyone wants as few teams as possible in a playoff and this would the least amount of teams you could have according to the NCAA rules. If the PFL got a bid, the FCS would likely move to 22.

By that argument, EWU would be turning in the pads right now....

Really? They just added 4 more teams to the playoffs this year.

They had to if they wanted to give the NEC and Big South an autobid(autos cannot exceed at large bids).

I meant 24 would be easier to deal with than 22. Twenty seems about as easy to deal with as 24. It's the multiple of four that does it. Of course, the easiest are powers of two beacuse in that scenario there are NO byes.

But if they wanted to give the NEC and Big South an autobid then they didn't want as few teams in as possible.
I realize that I am being a dick ;) , but you can't say that they wanted to expand and also say they wanted as few teams as possible in the playoffs.
