biggest play of the game maybe Montana State's Dane Fletcher getting a huge sack with about a minute left.

Re: I'll take It... But Damn
Patriots extend their NFL record to six consecutive games without a turnover. Brady also extends his record for games with atleast 2 TD passes and 0 INT.
Dan Connolly, a offensive lineman returned a kickoff 71 yards, just missing a touchdown, the 71 yard return is a NFL record for offensive lineman.
The Patriots need a win or tie vs Miami or Buffalo or a Jets loss or tie in its final two games to lock up the AFC home field advantage.
The Jets are the only team besides New England who can win the AFC home field advantage. New England has the tie breaker over Pittsburgh.
Brady needs 19 more pass attempts without an interception to set the NFL record.

If anyone saw Matt Flynn's mismanagement there at the end... it shouldn't surprise us.... he played for Les Miles at LSU and apparently was a very good learner.

Come on, UNH. How many rookies not named Ben Roethlisberger understand end-game time management? Heck, even VETERANS and coaches make mistakes sometimes. Give the guy credit for almost becoming only the second rookie QB since the merger to get a win against a team with 10-plus wins.UNHWildCats wrote:If anyone saw Matt Flynn's mismanagement there at the end... it shouldn't surprise us.... he played for Les Miles at LSU and apparently was a very good learner.![]()

Well it was too easy to not mention it... Seriously though... Flynn played himself into a nice contract somewhere.SuperHornet wrote:Come on, UNH. And he's not a rookie, he's a third year player.

Re: I'll take It... But Damn
Mismanagement? he had to use his last timeout after Fletcher blew him up at the :53 mark, and then when the receiver came up a yard short of the first down it was 4th, so they couldn't just run up and spike it but actually had to run a play, which took some time to relay in and the call and set up...UNHWildCats wrote:If anyone saw Matt Flynn's mismanagement there at the end... it shouldn't surprise us.... he played for Les Miles at LSU and apparently was a very good learner.![]()

I wouldn't say he mismanaged it...the lineman that fucked up and didn't kick out to block Fletcher should be the one who gets his ass kicked by the coaching staff. Having to use that timeout at that point probably cost them the game.

Re: I'll take It... But Damn
OK, he's not a rookie, but it IS his first start. That's a bit closer to what my old-timer brain says: make a guy sit and learn for four years before he takes over as the starter. Of course, hardly anyone goes by that anymore with these stupid sky-high salaries straight out of college. Dumb....UNHWildCats wrote:Well it was too easy to not mention it... Seriously though... Patriots also set an NFL record for lowest time of possession (19:12) by a winning team.
Re: I'll take It... But Damn
Brady shoulda been picked off 2-3 times.... I blame the Green Bay secondary for their butterfinger hands. There's no excuse for Woodson dropping that ball, he must have been surprised Brady threw it right to him.

Nodded off shortly after the half, too tired from the weekend events. Have to check out sports center I guess.

Re: I'll take It... But Damn
the same can be said about the rest of the Pats offense... but when you only have the ball 19 minutes you can only get the ball to a guy only so many times.Silenoz wrote:Needed more Woodhead touches imo
The Patriots did move the ball when they had it. Woodhead averaged 7.1 yards per touch. The running game averaged 7.1 yards per attempt and taking out the 3 sacks of Brady the offense averaged 7 yards per play (including incomplete passes)
Today many will say the Green Bay defense shut down the Patriots... they didnt though... It was the Green Bay offense that shut down the Patriots offense.

What lost the game for the Packers, is when that fat fuck got the long kickoff return. WHICH, should have been negated in the first place since there were 3 blocks in the back during the run. Including one towards the end. Crosby got raped from behind.

I've read lots of comments saying Sammy Morris was saving Crosbys life there... Crosby woulda been steamrolled if he didnt get that push.Willie wrote:What lost the game for the Packers, is when that fat fuck got the long kickoff return. Anyway those kinds of pushes from behind happen on most kick/punt returns... just a mild push. Heck there was even one on Jackson's punt return that took out 3 GiantsWillie wrote:What lost the game for the Packers, is when that fat fuck got the long kickoff return.
