Federal authorities have opened a criminal investigation of Delaware Republican Christine O'Donnell to determine if the former Senate candidate broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to protect the identity of a client who has been questioned as part of the probe. The case, which has been assigned to two federal prosecutors and two FBI agents in Delaware, has not been brought before a grand jury.

Charlie Oberly's first high-profile case as Delaware's new U.S. attorney. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but a real bulldog.

US Rep. Conyers reimburses for son's vehicle use ($5,682 for government-leased Cadillac Escalade)

DETROIT (AP) -- Taxpayers have been repaid for the time Detroit Congressman John Conyers' son spent using a government vehicle.
The U.S. Treasury Department was reimbursed $5,682, the House Judiciary chair said in a statement Wednesday.
His son reported two laptops worth $1,100 each and $27,500 worth of concert tickets stolen from the parked vehicle, according to Detroit police.
Conyers said it's unlikely that the amount of time his son used the vehicle was as high as the amount given to the Treasury Department, but he wanted to be "sure that there is no cost to the taxpayers whatsoever for any possible non-official use of the car."

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. Al Swearengen
