No we can't. We have to be better in the red-zone. Get that 7 instead of the FG early on (had 3 shots at the endzone, and wasted them all), and that TD from Branch that was knocked out of his arm and through the endzone literally a foot from the goal line for a touchback, and it's not so close. We won the turnover battle by a mile but didn't do too well converting them into points. There was also the last play of the first half where we didn't get any points off the turnover.dbackjon wrote:7 points is not a beatdown. You did see the Hawks beat-down the Chargers today, right?Yes, we gave up 400+ through the air, but I blame that on Truf going down. Earl Thomas = 2 INTs. Leon Washington = 2 KOR for TDs. Almost 3 but he tripped himself up.
But okay, I'll wait until after we beat them on Sunday.![]()

I doubt the niners are gonna trade their 2011 #1 overall pick, lol.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:DKHardee wrote:I can't believe my niners have completely thrown this season away.... Maybe Jake Locker will be a niner in 2011.No way, the Hawks are going to trade up and draft him to take over after Hasselbeck. Whitehurst proved he's a good backup during the preseason.

Great showing by the NFC West this week. Perhaps wishful thinking, but I don't think it's too far-fetched to think Seattle could go 9-7 or 10-6. We've proven to be tough as nails at home, and put together a solid performance on both sides of the ball on the road against a physical Bears team. Marshawn Lynch changes our offense in a big way, opening up both the run and the pass games. Carroll has this team headed in the right direction, and I'm cautiously optimistic we'll be a real contender in the next year or two.

Yeah, I was really excited about what I saw this weekend, the Lynch pick up is going to be big for us. I think this weekend against Arizona is going to be huge for us, we absolutely need to win that game in Qwest.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Great showing by the NFC West this week. Rams.
If we actually had Donnie Avery and Mark Clayton fully healthy, we could be pushing .500 on the season for sure. Even without them, the defense is stepping up... at home. Need to win a freakin' road game.

The Rams have made a lot of improvement. As much as I hate to say it, Bradford's gonna be real good once he gets a little seasoned. I think the Rams will finish second behind Seattle, with AZ and SF bringing up the rear.catbob wrote:Rams. If we actually had Donnie Avery and Mark Clayton fully healthy, we could be pushing .500 on the season for sure. Rams and Niners found a way to shit away wins at the last minute.

7 red zone trips, 1 TD for the Hawks...but I'll happily take the win regardless. It feels like every snap we had in the second half there was a holding penalty on us.

On the bright side, Josh Brown who? Olindo Mare not only continued his streak to 29 straight FGs made, but even made 3 or 4 attempts that didn't count because of penalty. Straight tearing it up.
Correction, 30 straight, and he made 4 other attempts that were nullified by holding (2), offsides (1), and delay of game (1).

The Rams are improving, but it seems we can only play a good first half. The last two weeks we have gotten spanked around in the 2nd half, including today by the Bucs.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Rams and Niners found a way to **** away wins at the last minute.

We will get you at home...
Glad the other teams choked...
Arizona still has the only road division win so far.

Seattle still has the only road non-division win so far (against a winning team).

The worst team in the league (Panthers) has two wins... against the 49ERS and the SEAHAWKS. Wow, the NFC west sucks.

Hawks vs Niners today!

Re: Official 2010 NFC West Thread
An absolute must win for the Hawks today if we want to win the NFC West and have a chance to get blown out in the Wild Card Round. Under no circumstances do I see us beating Atlanta next week, then @Tampa looks like it would be a loss too, so we desperately need to beat the Niners and then the Rams (in Seattle) in week 17 and hope that St. Louis loses at least one of their remaining 3 games prior to that match up (@Saints, Chiefs, Niners). With no Frank Gore today and Alex Smith starting at QB I think I like our chances.DKHardee wrote:Hawks vs Niners today!

Re: Official 2010 NFC West Thread
3 weeks left in the season and there isn't an NFC West team with a record above .500. Fun fact: of the Seahawks 7 losses, the closest final margin was 15 points.

49ers vs Chargers tonight. I hope SF wins but I don't think they can handle SD.

Re: Official 2010 NFC West Thread
By picking up their game and finishing a red hot 3-7 the Seattle Seahawks win the NFC West and clinch the #4 Seed in the playoffs. After these last ten weeks I would have to say we're the prohibitive favorite to win the NFC this season, anyone who believes otherwise clearly has their East Coast Bias Glasses on.
