NFL Playoff Schedule Released
Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
Who's your No. 5 hitter? That line-up is looking awfully short without Werth. Its Chase Utley and a bunch of guys on a downward trend. You lost Werth, but don't worry. You got Ryan Howard locked up through 2015!GannonFan wrote:Tell that to Cliff Lee and his wife. Go Penn!
Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
Everyone knows that the Philadelphia Phillies are major sports' biggest losers ever, with over 10,000 losses.
But did you know that the Philadelphia Eagles are the second biggest losers in NFL history -- second only to the Detroit Lions?
And the Eagles aren't even an original NFL franchise, and yet they have more losses than all of the original NFL teams, who have played nine more seasons.
Maybe the Eagles should move, like the Cardinals, so they can start their loss count all over again.

But the Giants have played nine more seasons, and are well above .500 for their history (over .550), while the Eagles have a winning percentage of .480. The difference is in wins.89Hen wrote:Glad you didn't wait another year or two to post that, it will no longer be true.JoltinJoe wrote:But did you know that the Philadelphia Eagles are the second biggest losers in NFL history -- second only to the Detroit Lions?

PS -- Your numbers are wrong.
Eagles All-Time: 505 W and 536 L.
Giants All-Time: 636 and 524.

I'm confused - what does this have to do with the Giants missing the playoffs again this year?JoltinJoe wrote:But the Giants have played nine more seasons, and are well above .500 for their history (over .550), while the Eagles have a winning percentage of .480. Mine were all games played through the start of the sesason. I guess unless the Eagles win the SB, they will have one more loss than the Giants this year... I'm sure you'd rather be in the Eagles position.JoltinJoe wrote:PS -- Your numbers are wrong.

BTW, post season (you know, when it counts)...
New York Giants 20-24
Philadelphia Eagles 19-19
Giants are well below .500

Re: NFL Playoff Schedule Released
Of course Joe doesn't want to be in the Eagles current position. Today doesn't matter, next year doesn't matter. Looking backwards, now that's what really matters.89Hen wrote:Mine were all games played through the start of the sesason. Eagles: 3 NFL titles (none in the past 50 years), and no Super Bowl wins.
You were saying something about "when it counts"?

Does the 7 get you a bid into the playoffs this year?JoltinJoe wrote:Giants: 7 NFL championships, including 3 Super Bowl wins

Can't make the playoffs every year.89Hen wrote:Does the 7 get you a bid into the playoffs this year?JoltinJoe wrote:Giants: 7 NFL championships, including 3 Super Bowl wins

And you can't win the Super Bowl every year. But of course you already know that.

Drawing the Eagles in the playoffs is almost like getting a bye week.

Stick to talking about past championships.

See, you're much better sticking to that. But, I'll take watching my team play this weekend over past SB's any day of the week. Redskins have three of them and not a day goes by when I don't thank God I'm not a Skins fan.JoltinJoe wrote:Super Bowl wins?? "0"

There you go, that's better. No sense focusing on the present when there is no Giants present. Yup, still no Giant playoff game this year - I'll keep checking for you to see if that changes.JoltinJoe wrote:Super Bowl wins?? "0"89Hen wrote: Really? Playoff wins since 2000...

Yup. Sure would like a SB win this year, but other than that, don't really care about past ones.JoltinJoe wrote:Really??
