None of that was directed at you. :)

BTW, just got a call from my brother (who was with me in 2003 in Chatty) and he said the place is crawling with Hen fans. :thumb:

Just talked with Kalm a little bit ago, word is (from several adminstrators) that the game is going to be a sell-out, and they're starting to turn people away. He also said the EWU tailgate area looks about as full as it was at EWU for the Montana game, so it looks to be a pretty good EWU crowd there. I'm thinking the locals are supporting their prodigal son, Bo Levi Mitchell. :D

Reporting now from inside PHP. Atmosphere is great. Good turnout by both scholls. Bands are in each corner toward the south end zone on their respective sides. The sides look pretty well filled. The end zone may have some empties. They have tarps over two end zone sections. Other end zone is sort of a stage setup like Chatty was. Biden is obviously going to be in 127 as security is crawling there and that section and they get a secondary metal detector wand. Guys with earpieces all over.

I am officially feeling good. Found more Dogfish at Beverage City. Just spent some quality time tailgating with Bluehenbillk. Good times.

Edit: Joe Biden just walked right in front of me.

What attendance figures will make all the frisco naysayers go away? 16,000?

The lopsided way this game is going, it is going to cure all these Frisco locals from spending $30 or $40 next year.

Any listed attendance yet? It looked like both sides were filled with the endzone seating remaining empty. I would think around 15K based on this.

PHP facilities looked great, except they need some turf layed down for sure IMO...

Interesting you're bashing the attendance but didn't bother to go to the game to help out. What a douche you have been through all this. You don't help the cause that is FCS football by constantly bashing it.
Questions for ya
How many games have you attended in Chatty?
How many before it was in Chatty?
If it doesn't stay in Frisco but doesn't go back to Chatty, would you attend?
Do you advocate playoffs for FBS?
If not, do you also have a problem with the BCS game being moved every year? (and not being where the 2 teams involved are anywhere near home?)

Just trying to figure out what makes you so angry over this (Other than ECB)

0. I was in grade school the last time it wasn't in Chattanooga.
CatMom wrote:If it doesn't stay in Frisco but doesn't go back to Chatty, would you attend?
Depends on a whole lot of factors. Where is it? Is my team playing? I've been before when my team isn't there, but it would have to be a somewhat decent drive.
CatMom wrote:Do you advocate playoffs for FBS?
Yes.
CatMom wrote:If not, do you also have a problem with the BCS game being moved every year? (and not being where the 2 teams involved are anywhere near home?)
Pretty sure BCS games aren't moved every year. They've been in the same general locations for decades. The national championship game moves every year, though.

And, I don't really give a shit where they play those games. If I see them play a BCS game to a half empty stadium, I may change my mind.

And, I'm just holding Frisco to the same standard that Chattanooga was held to. Last year everyone complained about awful attendance (14,328). This year, Frisco's attendance (13,028) is AWESOME!!! The crowd looked GREAT on tv!!!! And if you complain about the fact that attendance is worse than last year... or 4,000 less than Chattanooga's average... you have East Coast Bias all of a sudden.

Interesting you're putting so much effort into defending the attendance but didn't bother to drive a few hours to the game. :coffee:

Big deal, skelly. With regard to attendance, the teams in the game matter more than where the game is played. The average attendance for the other two Delaware title games in which App State was not the opponent is 12,769.

Regardless of the venue, low teens is the average NC game attendance for all but a handful of larger schools or programs with a stronger football tradition. Remove only five teams from the NC mix (Marshall, Boise State, Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, Montana) and average attendance falls to only 12,088. Even if you leave App State and Montana in, the average is only 14,621.

To the last part....I'll have to bear my personal info. I work because my husband was forced into retirement (yes, he's old enough but we couldn't/can't manage well without his income even with SS and his pension) I work so we can have insurance that doesn't cost $863 a month (that's what Cobra would cost us) We had to file bankruptcy this year and I couldn't afford it. Maybe we should have sold our house so I could make the game (cause I really did want to go) Happy now?

Why take out teams that consistently go to the championship game? Why stick the game in Texas where one or two teams out of the entire playoff field is in driving distance?

Average attendance in Chattanooga: ~17,000
Attendance in Frisco; 13,028

Everyone bitched about attendance last year. This year is worse and everyone thinks it's great.

All moving the game to Frisco accomplished was lowering the bar. :ohno:

I would probably only go if NDSU was in the championship or it was located near as in less than an hour. Otherwise I don't really care where the championship game is played because it will be on TV.

And for your further entertainment
Yes, if we had made the NC in 2005 I would have been there. We had the money/finances back then

We used a lot of money to go home (NJ) in May, when my mom passed away. That set us back even further and we're still recovering. No credit cards now....all has to be cash.

This is a preview of what a bowl game would be like if App St moves up in the future.
Would you only go if you could drive?

the crowd looked great on TV last night.

The weather was excellent and not raining like it was in Nooga last night.

Waiting for the fans to post their 1st hand experiences of the stadium..area etc...

Sure hope I get to go sometime..it looked great

Hold the national championship game in Chattanooga because your homeboys got to the finals three years out of the 33 years the NC game has been played? I don't think so, skelly.

All moving the game to Frisco accomplished, as far as skelly is concerned, was making attendance personally inconvenient.

I've been in Dallas the last few days and haven't heard a single mention of the game. Of course that doesn't mean shit because there has been zero talk of the Cotton Bowl as well.
