The Chargers' front office sucks....

Post by SuperHornet »

They have a history of giving up on great players WAY too soon. First it was pass-rushing specialist Fred Dean, who left SD and won two rings with the Whiners before going to the HOF. Then it was Junior Seau, who played at a high level for seven years and went to a non-Charger Super Bowl. Later was Drew Brees, who won a title just last year and was SB MVP. Now, it's Ladanian Tomlinson, who has had a resurgence in NY since the arrogant SD GM declared him done.

Perhaps it's the GM who should be done....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Seau played his prime years in SD. He was washed up when he left...he even had his retirement party thrown by the Chargers before anyone (Pats I think) considered picking him up.

As I told you multiple times before, Brees was coming off of shoulder surgery on his throwing arm and they weren't going to pay both him and Rivers. The moves worked out for both teams and the Saints have had more success due to the weapons that have been available to Brees.

LT is past his prime and does not fit the offense Norv runs. The Chargers don't have a good run blocking OL (really haven't had one since Shottenheimer left). LT is platooned in NY with Green which fits his aging ability best. LT was not worth the salary he wanted for his lessening talents. It was a business decision, that's just part of the business so get over it.

I'm not a Norv fan and he needs to go, but AJ has landed some good players so he has shown some competence. I'd much rather see AJ as GM than a lot of others around the league. With that said, AJ needs to clean house and his top priority needs to be resigning VJ. :twocents:

Good post. The Eagles also tend to get rid of players when they are on the downside of their careers and that formula works just fine for Andy Reid et al.

Just because a guy still has something left in the tank doesn't mean that parting company him is a bad move.
