What is the Dismal Brothers' Major Malfunction?

Integrity and civility are not too much to ask for, and in my opinion are demonstrated at least to some degree by the vast majority of political posters on cs.com.

In stark contrast, the vast majority of posts in the political forum by the dismal brothers are hateful, irrational, disingenuous, uninformed, or a combination of all of the above. The occasional exception proves the rule. The resulting net value-add is less than zero.

I have tried not to take their bait, not to respond in kind, and instead offered a different kind of response to their incessant provocations. I have not asked or even suggested that the dismal brothers be banned, only offered my opinion as to their contributions to the board.

Note that lack of poll popularity has never stopped them before!

There is lots of clever and entertaining repartee on cs.com, from all across the political spectrum, but not from the dismal brothers. The only good thing I can say about them is that they have a few decent die-hard friends who stick up for them, and in my book, that really counts for something!

Reminds me of the summer I took my kids and their cheap bamboo poles to a pond that had not been fished for probably a decade. It was June, the grasshoppers were everywhere, and they made great bait. The fish, even with their extremely limited mental capacity, were conditioned to strike immediately at the bait. Strike they did, as soon as the grasshoppers hit the water!

The kids came back with strings of carp from as high as they could lift their little arms all the way to the ground. What a great memory!

Where would the world be without fish? And grasshoppers?
