2) App State - Pressley should progress nicely in his 2nd year of starting
3) UNI - return everybody. Usually a very solid team
4) NDSU - Off all the teams in the playoffs NDSU had the best combination of offensive and defensive lines, If they ever decide to develop a passing game like they had with Walker they will be dangerous.
5)UM - The Griz lost 4 games because they turned the ball 4 times or more in those games. With Breske staying on their defense will again be suffocating with Trumaine Johnson locking down one side of the field. Coach Pflugrad finally figured out that a running game is not a bad thing. They will be a force to be reckoned with whether anybody likes it or not.
What does Montana return next season?

It's not the returns they're worried about, it's the fumbles. :thumb:

Just imagine what the rankings would be like if you truly "wiped the slate clean" so to speak. What do you go by on the first poll a few weeks into the season? Whoever has the highest average margin of vidctory? think of a bunch of people who know football but know jack about FCS voting in the polls. That's what it would look like if what happened last year had no bearing on it.
Huh??
-Preseaon polls you have ZERO to go on for the current season.
-Mid season polls you have 5-6 games for everybody to go on.
-Late season polls have 9,10, 11 games to go on.

If you started a poll say a month into the season like they do here (which I think is still too early- think it should be the midpoint after week 6) at least you have something to go on. Records (4-0, 3-1, 2-2, 1-3, 04), who they played, who they beat, who they lost to, where they played, margin of victory.

All preseason polls do is have teams ranked higher or lower than they should be later in the season because of the pre season polls being based on the prior season. If you "wiped the slate clean" as you say with a poll that didn't start till mid season, then you have little to no influence from the prior season as it should be.

Honestly can't figure how Appy is picked that high. They have choked big time in the playoffs the last two years, and lose a ton this off season.

Pretty much everyone except the QB and RB. Supposedly our starting QB will either be a drop down, or the 2009 Oregon 6A player of the year Jordan Johnson. Jordan's redshirt was burned this year, so he could take around 20 snaps. Many are wondering why the coach burned his redshirt to give him so little playing time.

A big question mark at QB.

Seriously? What do you think the 2010 top 5 would look like not taking into account what happened in a previous year?

LOL "chocked big time"? They lost in the semis two years ago on a dropped pass in the endzone on the last play of the game at the hardest place to play in the country. Over the past 6 years they have averaged a final ranking of 2.5 and averaged a 3.5 the past two years.
