A large amount of bullshit being heaped on the guy today - that's for sure.
from a bunch of players who don't like him, to keyboard tough guys who all will tell "what they'da done"
it's funny to me - as a guy who HAS sprained his MCL on a football field - that anyone would suggest that it was a good idea for him to go back out there... it would seem to me that a smarter thing for a player to do would be to let an able-bodied qb lead the team instead of further jeopardizing both your team, and your body in the pursuit of vanity.
i'm no cutler fan, and i don't like the bears, nor the packers one bit... without a dog in this fight, i think it's sad that fans, the media and some of his fellow players (but none of his teammates thusfar...) have decided to pass judgment and accuse him of quitting... there is a line between "toughing it out" and "conduct detrimental" - as a Viking fan... I'd rather have a guy who did what Cutler did than a guy like Favre who would sooner die on the field than come out of a game - even if it would be better for his team...

CHICAGO -- Jay Cutler does indeed have a knee injury -- a sprained medial collateral ligament, the team announced on Monday -- providing at least some explanation for why the Bears quarterback only played one series in the second half of Sunday's NFC title game, prompting critics to question Cutler's toughness.
"MCL sprain. That's what the injury was," Bears coach Lovie Smith said. "We knew that. We had an idea at the time that that's what it was, and that's what we're saying now."

Not exactly a shining moment for many NFL players. That whole adage about keeping your mouth shut rather than opening it and proving to people how stupid you are has been on full display in this case. Funny how no Bears guy was questioning the injury.

Me too! It was an expletive-laced tirade directed against those who opened their yaps before they knew the truth about the injury.89Hen wrote:Heard Urlacher speak up FOR Cutler.GannonFan wrote:Not exactly a shining moment for many NFL players.
