Mexico

The Mexican government is urging its citizens in Egypt to leave.

My question is why? They are still safer in Egypt then they would be in Mexico.

Funny.

But I wasn't aware that Egypt also had a problem with illegal immigrants from Mexico.

And now with the government quarters being decimated, there are no dwellings worth cleaning to keep clean.

This is some pretty funny stuff, and a lot of joke potential, but I can't seem to find an article or link about this "fact."

It's the same generic travel warning issued by just about every country in the World.
In light of recent events in Egypt, the Foreign Ministry recommends that Mexican citizens avoid unnecessary travel to that country.

It also urges Mexicans in Egypt to consider leaving the country, taking the necessary precautions.

The Foreign Ministry has suggested that the families of the embassy staff in Cairo consider leaving temporarily.

The Mexican embassy in Egypt will remain open and the Mexican government will continue to provide assistance to Mexicans who need it, including helping them to leave.

Those who are still in Egypt should take the following precautions:

1. Avoid unnecessary trips within the country, especially to Cairo, Alexandria and Suez, until you have a precise itinerary for leaving Egypt.

2. Avoid crowds.

3. Do not engage in political activities or protests.

4. Do not go to the areas where there is unrest.

5. Follow the instructions of the local authorities, including the curfew.

6. Follow the news and local events closely.

7. Stay in close contact with the Mexican embassy in Cairo.

Mexican citizens in Egypt can contact the Embassy of Mexico at:

Tels: (202) 2358 -0256 ext. 316

(202) 2619-5512

(202) 2358-1958

Fax: (202) 2378 - 0059

Emails:

oficial@embamexcairo.com and pacrespuestarapida@sre.gob.mx
http://portal3.sre.gob.mx/english/index ... e&Itemid=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And, 99% of Mexico is much safer than Egypt currently is.

Also, Travis... glad to see you've taken the "Obama is a fucking joke" thing out of your profile. Looks like you're warming to Obama like the rest of the country.

Nick Valencia is a respected journalist... Just because he passes along something on Twitter doesnt make it not newsworthy.
