A quick google search by even the most rank amateur (me) shows that the image in question is at least a year and a half old and there is no real proof that it wasn't photoshopped in the first place.

Doing some investigative work on when Sec. Gates met with Minister Ehud Barak, my guess would be July 27th, 2009... as far as the hh:mm when/if fox news aired that... it was apparently from the Fox New program "The Live Desk," which aired between 1-3 PM.

Exactly, he added nothing to a conversation about a current crisis...except a silly slap at FOX News that was essentially designed to discredit them. Typical of him, he couldn't find anything current or substantiated, but he decided that it was more important to take a swipe at the messenger rather than provide any real information on an actual event.

Thus, he can't be taken seriously.

I know that this will come as a shock to you, but people make mistakes; especially when they are in a "moving" situation.

One thing I've always said is that the only way to avoid making mistakes is not to do anything. And not doing anything is also a mistake.

It's going to happen. And if someone decides they're going to try to destroy somebody else's credibility by waiting for mistakes and then publicizing them when they make them, they are going to be able to find mistakes.
