Big Sky teams live on the road, its hard for any of them to get any home games, (Weber had 4 yep thats right 4 OOC home games), and then they spend the conf season beating the crap out of each other, for instance Northern Colorado is a better overall team than Weber this year, but Weber is a very very tough team to beat at home*, so far only BYU has been able to do it and it was by 6 points, UNC just fell prey on the road at the Dee.

Doesn't make sense, huh? That's alright, little buddy, you just keep chugging through that remedial reading class of yours, and come play with the big boys when you're done. I believe in ya.

UNC 54-65 NAU; The Bears contained NAU's efficient offense, but not enough to overcome their own 33% shooting

2/3 Games

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

  • Men

PSU 55-63 SAC; The injuries to PSU's bigs are clearly costing them as the Hornets outrebound them by 16
UMT 52-68 WEB; Odd stat: this game only had 6 offensive rebounds and 2 second-chance points
MSU 41-61 NAU; "Mr. Easy-Basket" Shane Johannsen goes a perfect 8/8 from the field while MSU continues to fade
EWU 53-63 UNC; After falling behind by 12, the Bears close the game on a 36-14 run

    Women

UNC 69-59 EWU; Bear F Lauren Oosdyke continues her surge with 21 points and 10 rebounds
SAC 74-92 PSU; This was sadly one of Sac State's closer conference games
WEB 59-67 UMT; Katie Baker shockingly returned from her surgery, but Jessa Loman Linford was the real star
NAU 64-80 MSU; 'Jack G Amy Patton scores 21 points, yet only plays 17 minutes for some reason

2/5 Games

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

  • Men

EWU 69-67 ISU; The Bengals were 16/17 from the line, but then Phyllip Taylor missed two with 10 seconds left
MSU 58-78 WEB; The Wildcats dominate the three-point shooting contest, 63%-28%
UMT 53-70 NAU; Stallon Saldivar racks up 11 assists while the Cherry-less Griz guards struggle mightily
PSU 72-85 UNC; PSU's inside game keeps getting worse as they lose the boards by 23 and make just 7 two-pointers

    Women

ISU 76-73 EWU (OT); Four players lead the Eagles in scoring with 11 points each
UNC 60-67 PSU; The Viks shoot 56% in the second half to end UNC's 7-game winning streak
NAU 61-84 UMT; The Lady Griz shoot 80% from the arc while the 'Jacks shoot just 14%
WEB 51-60 MSU; MSU has a rare bad shooting night, but they still manage to hold off the even colder Wildcats

Yeah I watched the first half against NAU, and then turned it off. They sucked tonight.

Random Big Sky Stats

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

The Montana men are 8-3, but the 3 losses were by an average of 17 points. In fact, 9 of UM's 11 games have been decided by double digits (excluding only the NAU & PSU wins). The Lady Griz have been the opposite, though: 7 of their 9 games have been decided by single digits (excluding only the NAU & Sac wins).

Road teams are just 11-37 in Big Sky play. Montana & NoCo each have 3 road wins, but no-one else has more than one. Montana, NoCo, & Weber are all undefeated at home (in conference). EWU just broke an 18-game overall road losing streak last night in Pocatello.

One of the best, if not THE best point guard in the conference...I think so.
