Oddly early preseason top-25 FCS

Oh no doubt it will be a down year but do we honestly think the Pioneer League champ would be 4th in the CAA? Even in a down year I would put a couple of them in the 17-25 range. I believe the down year will be more like just 1-2 in the top 10 instead of 3-4 like we are use to seeing. You just can't count out JMU, Richmond, UMASS, etc. as they have found ways to reload pretty quick. I have a hard time believing JMU will finish out of the top 25 for two years in a row.

I agree with that. Putting Jacksonville in the top 25 at all is a joke IMO.

I can see how you would be perennially dissapointed in a team that is 3 years in division I and they win the conference their first year and nearly make it to the playoffs with a 7 - 4 record the first eligible playoff year. 3 years. Not decades like some teams. 3 years. I'm not disappointed. I'm ready for that new turf, skyboxes, and new weight facility that are going in that will draw the better recruits. Things are looking sooo much better than first in conference and playoff eligible..

Yeah, you probably shouldn't have been included in that list. It just seems to me that UCA is on the verge the last 2-3 years of making some noise and they just aren't there yet.

Maybe it's southern bias but here is ALL you need to know about how screwed up this poll is:

MORE OVC teams appear than CAA teams.

Seriously, it's like not enough people have head this - the OVC has more teams in this poll than the CAA. There's no need to even look at a poll like that. Call me when we have something resembling the reality we experience here on Earth, because that ain't it.

How can UCA make some noise the past 2 - 3 years when they weren't eligible for the playoffs...so making the top 25 list is the best they could do! They did that. That's an accomplishment. They beat their first FBS team. If anything App is too high, imo. Just not feeling that confident about this season. Our defense has been the achille's heel the past couple of years... and we've been loaded with talent. A good chunk of that talent will now be gone. We've got some guys that can step in... but, I think the defense drops off next year.... which is bad.

ASU is too high - I agree with KY's assessment, and we might be a top 10 team - lots of departures in '10. GSU and Wofford will be for real this season and will likely battle it out for the SoCon championship.

Agree 100%. App will finish in 3rd place in SoCon next year & could easily be in 4th place behind GSU, Wof, & UTC. You can only stay on top for so long in a top tier conference. If we finish above 3rd place in SoCon & make playoffs, it will be a succesful fall. The good = GSU & UTC at home...the bad = Wof & FU on the road....the ugly is an injury to either Quick or Pressley....especially Quick...
