Pujols will apparently sign for less if he is given part ownership stake in the Cards. The Cards apparently were under the impression a player cant be involved in ownership so never went forward in any type of negotiation involving part ownership. However some say he could be part owner of a team he plays for, just not of another team while a player for another team.

If indeed he can be a part owner and if he did ask for that in an effort to take less money the Cards should jump at it.

The Cubs and Cards are "heated" rivals? You mean they're still upset about losing Bruce Sutter? The Cubbies don't really get hot under the collar about ANYTHING. And their fans are too beat up since their last title back in the teens to care much....

You don't have a clue about that.

Yes, they hate each other - as much as Yanks-Red Sox

My best friend is a lifelong Cubbies fan, and he's NEVER mentioned StL as a "rival." He's much more into the Cubbies trashing the ChiSox.

Then your friend is about as much a fan of the Cubbies as Principal Rooney.

Seriously....everyone knows that it's Yankees/Red Sox first, then Cubs/Cards second (or Giants/Dodgers if you choose).
