You mean the friary on the other side of the mountain from the blast point?
So that makes it less remarkable or coincidental?

It means that it was shielded from the direct impact of the blast. And knowing those Jesuits, they probably used the most modern building techniques available, which made it 100x sturdier than the bamboo and paper houses around it

He rarely challenges the content of my sources. He knows damn well atheists know way more about religion than any catholic.

All he does is condemn them, then he posts all his academic/theological endeavors as if we're to believe him because he takes catholic classes, still, at age 50 :ohno: .

This has not been a good day for you Joe.

I'm gonna help you out: Read Sun Tzu's Art of War

If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

Ok, let's get this straight. You lift a photo of Nagasaki from a website that specifically identifies it as "Nagasaki Before the Atom Bomb." You post that picture here, claiming it is a picture of Nagasaki after the blast.

You get exposed for your error. But rather than admit that you made a mistake, you compound that mistake with the above stupidity. (Seriously, did you really create a blog just to put this picture on it, with a stupid caption? )

Take from me, someone who hires and retains employees all the time. It's not the mistake that gets an employee in trouble, it's what they do after they make a mistake that causes the issue. Employers like employees who can stand up and admit their mistake, and not try to explain it away, or act like they didn't make an error.

Ponder that when your next unemployment check arrives.

I didn't get it from the blog... google image seach. I then used my own intuition to see that it is obviously the aftermath of the atom bomb in Nagasaki depicting many standing buildings.

And, I'm not unemployed. Insults work a lot better when there's an element of truth... just so you know.

Why are you hiring employees "all the time"? Seriously, I know your practice is probably growing, but "all the time"? Come on Joe, either you're exaggerating or you're a shitty boss or hirerer of people. :geek:

Your intuition? Please. The website identified it as Nagasaki before the bombing. You can't post it here and say it is after the bombing, because your intuition says so.

That's right, you dig holes for archeologists.

So, you seriously believe it's from before the bombing? The second photo is from UCLA archive of Nagasaki photos from after the bombing on UCLA's website. You seem to be ignoring that one. It shows very similar destruction.... and very similar buildings still standing.

But, you choose to believe it's from before the bomb.

And, actually.. the photo in the blog that you are so upset about is labled as October 1945... and the bomb was dropped in August of 1945.

Clearly AFTER (as if the obvious destruction wasn't evidence enough  )

Sky, why are you so thick?

You took the photo from the website to which I linked. I know that, because when I click on the photo, it has the same path as the path for the photo you posted.

The caption says it is Nagasaki before the bombing.

You posted it here saying it is Nagasaki after the bombing.

You're an embarrassment. You can't admit what you did. :ohno: You're reputation as the most stubborn/least bright person on these boards continues to grow.

See, but now you're trying to change the point. The remains of the structures in this photo demonstrate that the buildings are severely damaged.

The friary was intact. Not damaged in the least. Remember? Get it?

And it still doesn't change the fact that you posted a photo from a source, but chose to ignore what the source said about that photo because your intuition ( ) told you so.

This is the link to the photo in question:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/...nWGJjKDuabU/s1600/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Nagasaki-October-1945.jpg

OCTOBER 1945

The bomb was dropped on Nagasaki in August of 1945...... ERGO... the photo is after the bombing.

And, again... I really would have thought the wanton (pun intended ;) ) destruction in the photo would have been evidence enough... but, I guess not. You just really, really want to believe it's from before. :|
