Southern continues to plummet to the bottom of the SWAC losing to AAMU 64-45. I'm pretty sure they'll miss the conference tourney for the 2nd year in a row.

Re: Your Team's 2010-2011 Season
Harvard men's hoops made The Wall Street Journal's Friday sports column today. The point of the short article was that, since the NCAA tourney expanded to 64 teams in 1985, no conference has sent fewer schools to the tournament than the Ivies: just 4 0f the 8 schools (Penn, Princeton, Cornell and Brown, with a decided emphasis on the first two) have made it. This year, Harvard may become the fifth if it wins out in its last 4 games (Brown and Yale on the road, folowed by Princeton and Penn at home).
That's probably the kiss of death for the Crimson.

Re: Your Team's 2010-2011 Season
Harvard came from behind once again in the second half to beat Brown, 74-68. 21-4, 10-1 Ivy. If we win the next three games, we're off to our first ever Big Dance since 1946! Meanwhile, in the Princeton watch, they dumped Cornell 84-66.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

ODU ends the season at 24-6. Will be the #2 seed in the CAA tournament behind GMU.

Western Carolina finishes regular season 17-14, 12-6 1st in SoCon North and for 2 of the last 3 years, shares the SoCon North crown with Chattanooga. Larry Hunter is more than earning his salary in Cullowhee. I wish Dennis Wagner's fat ass would take a page or two from Larry's playbook.

Re: Your Team's 2010-2011 Season
TXST takes UTSA (82-80) with .3 seconds left on the clock. Crowd was 3527 (amazing for TXST).
With 2 games to go in conference,TXST secured at least a tourney placement. Starting OOC horrendously they are now 10-4 (15-13) in the SLC and still lead the west division. McNeese (east div) is also 10-4 but have the tie-breaker. 9-0 at home in SLC play (11-3 overall), TXST has, obviously, not fared so well (1-4) on the road and the last 2 games are away.
3/2 @ Lamar 12-16 (6-8)
3/5 @ SHSU 15-12 (8-6)

SDSU loses to NDSU for the 10th straight time. This season is an utter failure if we don't make some noise in the league tourney.

what's the scoop on the Ivy League?... I saw where Harvard lost over the weekend... is there any hope that they can beat Princeton and make the tourney?
as for NDSU... a disappointing 8-10 finish means Oral Roberts in the opening round of the Summit League Tournament on Saturday night...

Re: Your Team's 2010-2011 Season
The last time out, Harvard lost to Princeton 61-65. The margin's not that close. We lost to Yale by just one point, it might have almost gone to overtime or have gone the other way around had Harvard not committed too many fouls or made most of its baskets in the second half.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:what's the scoop on the Ivy League?... Our last two games are with Penn, whose last time out with us was when we went into double OT and won; and Princeton. Princeton-Penn is the last Ivy game. Penn, however, sits outside the top two (they're fourth). Usually the top two teams in the Ivy League standings go to the postseason: the Big Dance (the champion) and either the NIT or the CBI (the second placer). Last year, we finished third but we ended up in the CIT.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.
