As someone who served in the military under seven different presidents, the very thought of militaary intervention is so foreign to the American military...
Over the years, I've met military folks from other countries where their military intervenes on, or strongly influences, their civilian leadership...I was in a class in the late 80's with a Pakistani and Venesulian officer...both felt the military had a duty to influence the civilian leadership...

I agree. It's great to think we can change leadership between opposing leaders peacefully. It doesn't mean we have to support the new leadership's policies. However, it is nice to know we can institute change without military or violent intervention.
