If we spend public money in Japan it makes us EXACTLY the kind of guy the conktards love to hate. You know, the guy on un-employment or welfare that smokes 2 packs a day, has a wide screen high def 3D hanging on the family room wall, but then goes and signs his kids up for free lunch at school. If he can pay for that TV, why the **** does he need free lunch for his kids? Pay for your own damn lunch Japan.

Silly way to look at it. I would usually agree with what you're saying. Let people do for themselves but if they suffer from something like this and they are a major business partner...and a major ally...in a very uncertain time in history I can't think of a more appropriate time to make sure that those that are your friends are doing the very best that they can in a very bad situation.

An ally that will or has helped us in this same type of situation didn't turn their back on us. I think in the interest of being a man about it I'm gonna side with extending the hand to help them up. The weaker your partners are, the weaker you are.

That's your opinion, but there's a difference between what you are saying and that OSBF is saying. I don't agree with you and I think the US should aim higher than Libya or North Korea.

You would be across the board against providing international aid. I can argue with that but I also see a philosophical consistency with the way you look at things.

But what OSBF is saying seems to be directed more pointedly at Japan and it has some really negative contextual connotations. I think that's why he's getting roasted.

If I was running this country there would be one tax rate for everyone. Everyone pays, everyone pays the same amount.

The government would be for providing some infrastructure and for protection of this country.

No hand outs, no welfare, people take care of themselves.

States would have the power/rights to run their state the way they see fit.

There would be a border and you wont come across it illegally, if you try you will be shot dead because it is an attack on our national security.

If we have the $$$ to pay Japan to clean up their mess, we best have the $$$ to take care of the stuff in our own damn country that needs taken care of.

The days of the good old USA being able to pay the bill for every **** thing that goes wrong anywhere on the globe have to be over.

If we can't afford, in these dire and desperate economic times, to extend un-employment benefits and guarantee fair and equal access to the all citizens to the greatest health care system on the globe, we have no ability to spend one single cent on foreign aid.

If they were a third world ceaspool with urine and feces running through the streets even before the disaster, fine, throw them some help because they just don't have the ability to help themselves.

But Japan is the 3rd largest economy on the planet, perfectly able to help themselves. We ain't gonna all of a sudden stop buying Honda's or Toyota's. It will take time, but they're resourceful folks and will be just fine on their own.

We either have the money or we don't.
