If they choose to stay in the sky because of money, etc. Going from the A-Sun to the Big South is a slight move up so Campbell did it.
Did the WAC close the gap with the MWC from 1999 - 2010? No. It actually grew. :dunce:

Both had 3 BCS bids moron. That makes them about equal the bottom 2 of the MWC were better than the bottom 2 of the WAC making them a little better.

A10 161 NCAA bids> CAA 58. If you wanna take out the newer A10 schools bids then go ahead, but put back VT, GT, Penn St., WVU, Rutgers bids. You can take out all of your newbs bids. The have a combined 1 since joining the CAA. A 3 team league VCU, GMU, ODU. UNCW hasn't been good since Wanwright left.

The Packers have 13. This has nothing to do with the A10 being a step up from the CAA 3 team league. Go look back at that pretty little chart that Quinn put up for you that shows even in your good years the A10 was better. I thought you were about even but you love rankings.

NCAA Bids 2000-2011(or year joined for the 5 that came later)
CAA bids other than the Big 3
UNCW 4 (last in 2006)
Hofstra 1(last in 2001)
Towson 0
William&Mary 0
Northeastern 0
Drexel 0
Georgia St. 0
JMU 0
Delaware 0

Like I said there are 3 good teams here that are superior to the 8.5 bottom feeders.

It is. It about being a step up. Basketball is part of the whole picture not all but more important than swimming, rowing etc.. Pretty easy for Yale to win titles when there were only 10 football teams in the 1800's when they rotated w/ Princeton. But keep going. Since it has so much to do with A10>CAA as a conf. overall.

This is really weird. Yesterday when I showed you how the A10 is inferior in other sports you shrugged it off. Now you say they are just as important as bball. I also showed you that there isn't an academic advantage. Hmmm, seems the only thing the A10 can claim superiority is bball, and that's eroded tremendously and now on the verge of disappearing all together.

I didn't know 2005, 2007, 2000 don't count? Plus all but St.Louis made it as A10 members. Your newbs can't hang with the Big 3. Temple, Xavier, Richmond, Dayton, St.Joseph's, GW, Charlotte sound more balanced than you're big 3. I left off STL since they haven't got an invite as a A10 member and St. Bonnies since half of your schools came in 2001.

Hey, if you want to hang your hat on old news, that's your perrogative. The A10 had a larger gap back then. The gap has closed. Not sure if you're really this dense or just playing.

I never said other sports are just as important. it goes Fb, Bkball, (hockey, bball, lax) depending where you live. women's bball somewhere in there too.

schools wouldn't have left the CAA for what you call sideways moves unless they thought the move was a step up. The school Prez is smarter than you and chose to leave. Go to the BE board or any other non CAA ass kissing board and they will tell you the A10 is a step up form the CAA whether its 161 bids to 58 or money, prestige or whatever. Why did Nebraska leave the B12 for the B10 B12 football is better, the won a title more recent and have won more than the big 10 since forming. money, prestige yada yada.

Yes the gap has closed for the 3 studs in your league. But the A10 is still a step up, deeper, harder etc..

Like I said yesterday my eyeball test thought the big 3 were as good or better than any A10 but that is a small piece of the big pie over both conf. existence. Plus Quinn posted the RPIs and showed all 5 years the A10 was better.

It WAS a step up when Richmond left. It is no longer. At least not enough of one to go.

here baseball is #3. in Delaware Lax is #3 right. in Michigan hockey #3 in Conn girls bball#3

At the FBS level only 1.5 things matter. Football and academic standards. Boise is better than CU at football but are basically a Juco and don't meet the requirements. Texas refuses to go to the SEC because their academics are too low. Pac 10, B10, B12 meet their standards. B10 needs you to be an AAU school to join unless your name is ND which they would have worked to get ND that status if they joined. FCS/AAA level its about working your way up the ladder making more money, positioning yourself for the future and yet another step up down the road.

There, was that so hard? Disagreeing is fine. Stating opinion as fact will have me argue until the cows come home. Or at least until 6:30 when I leave for dinner. 8-)

I also think it will be hard to ever give you an I told you so either because if Charlotte joins say CUSA if there was an opening and the A10 wanted to go back to 14. Butler gets the first call. Quinn thinks Holy Cross or Siena would be next.

Hey I don't always agree with him. I got into it with him about his dream conf. where Montana was in the MWC and Fresno wasn't. He said it's my dream I can have who I want.

HC/Siena I guess because they're private, new market? I can't see how they're a better option than VCU, GMU, ODU but he said something Richmond and GW owning the area and would block. I think he said Detroit too.

the map that we need a tech guy to update.

There's no A10 in the Indy-Butler, Albany-Siena, Bost.-HC area so it would be new. Still I'll take my chances with ODU or VCU saturation.
