Pitch to contact will work against pretty much everyone except the Yankees, Red Sox, and Jays.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:wow - the Twins opened with a real clunker...
the Jays beat the shit out of em last year... hopefully this isn't a preview of things to come - basically everything that could go wrong... did.
one of the problems is the Twins "pitch to contact" mentality with a team that is always swinging for the fence...

Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs. Man on first and second. O's up two.
Zobrist hits a fly ball deep to right field.... that Nick Markakis catches off the wall.
Unbelievable.

Joe Nathan with one of the ugliest saves manages to salvage a game in Toronto...
for as bad as the opening series was - twins are only a game back of Chicago headed to New York for what is likely to be 1-3 trip against the yankees... this is not a fun way to start the season.

Zach Britton gets the win in his first career major league start today. 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run.
Orioles sweep the Rays.
O's starting pitchers account for 20 innings, 6 hits, 1 earned run in the series.
