Gbagbo's forces have consistently used heavy weapons against civilians and peacekeepers in recent days....

"The situation is now ripe for a lightning offensive,"...

More than 1,500 people have been killed since the violence began five months ago.
So, the UN is already behind supporting the "rebels" (in this case the rightful winners of the elections), the current leader is using his military against the people, the time for a lightning offensive is at hand, and the US could lend air support without having to put troops in. Why hasn't Obama acted?

I totally expect the Obama administration to move swiftly on this matter and impose a no-fly zone upon the air space over the Ivory Coast. :coffee:

Obama's prudently and judiciously exploring all of his options, and will make a well-reasoned yet impactful decision at a time of his choosing.

Oh wait, I thought you were talking about his reelection campaign. Ivory Coast? I bet he sends Hilary over on the first plane/crop duster as an on-the-ground observer to interview both sets of combatants personally and report back to him about the yellow cake, er, oil, er, pirates, er cocaine, er whatever is that we care about there...

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. Ask Cleets to answer for me.............evidently I have never read a book.
:coffee:

I would pull troops out of every country we are in and put them on the Mexican border. I would put 16 new bases (4 of each branch) along the border and seal the fu*king thing off.

War is a necessary evil, but if your going to do it half assed like we have been then dont go at all. You go in dropping the full force of your military and level everything in your path to victory or stay home and save money.

So long as there are exemptions on who they stop from coming across the border, this might actually be worth while.
