Start-up program in their 2nd year of football, will join the CAA next year in 2012. Question of how long they will actually be in the CAA with rumors of FBS aspirations. However, as far as next season is concerned they have really put together a nice schedule, only a couple things leave you scratching your head...
Sep 1- CAU (H)
Sep 10- ODU (H)
Sep 17- Jac ST (A)
Sep 24- Houston (A)
Oct 1- Bye
Oct 8- Murray State (H)
Oct 15- SCSU (A)
Oct 22- USA (H)
Oct 29- UTSA (A)
Nov 5- Lambuth (H)
Nov 12- UWA (A)
Nov 19- Campbell (H)
I dont think this is "official" yet but good chance this is what it will look like. Not sure who "CAU" or "UWA" is, playing D-2 Lambuth again ( ). Other than that, they have some great road games, along with great home games.

Didn't ODU schedule light when they started out?
We had two D2s at home, and nine "light" FCS opponents. Last season the schedule was a little more tougher (no D2s, Cal Poly, W&M). What I'm wondering is how rare is it for an FCS school to visit a D2 school, as GSU will be doing next season? The game is at West Alabama.

Maybe they didn't get the memo.
Apparently it was a last minute deal, because a contract fell through with a FCS opponent. I don't know the details personally, but that was what was being said on PantherTalk.com.
I'll say it now on February 9th, if we put another 6-5 season, I'll mark it as tremendous success. Winnable games vs. Clark Atlanta (they are Division 2 vs. NAIA like Shorter), Murray State, UTSA, Lambuth, West Alabama and Campbell.
The other 5 will be very tough and if we can go 1-4, I'll be thrilled.

Winnable, but I don't think you win either of those.
