No team that started 0-4 has ever won a WS. Better luck next year.

It's good to be able to stick a form in the Red Sucks so early in the season.bluehenbillk wrote:No team that started 0-4 has ever won a WS. Better luck next year.
Hey Travis, when does NFL camp for the Patriots open?

Re: Chasing History - Red Sox strive for perfection
I hope the Red Sux fail as much as everyone else does, but come on, 4 games is not alot of ground to make up to win the division or the wild card, and then who knows what can happen. The Mets give up many more games than that in a one month span almost every single year. There are still 158 games to go. It's not as if this is the NFL where they would only have 12 games left to make up ground.
That said...and nothing mentioned about how much they have actually sucked thus far....fuck 'em.

Has any team ever started the season 0-162 and still won the World Series?

Larry Bowa had a great stroke of wisdom back when he was managing: Basically said, every year no matter how hard you try, you're going to win at least 60 games & your ging to lose at least 60 games, what you do in the other 42 is what determines your season.

No team had ever come back from being down 0-3 in a series either until 2004. Just sayin'.bluehenbillk wrote:No team that started 0-4 has ever won a WS. Better luck next year.
Who knows how the Red Sox season will go? As long as the Yankees don't win shit, I'll be happy.

How do you "stick a form" in someone? Is that like a TPS Report kind of form? Inquiring minds want to know.AZGrizFan wrote:It's good to be able to stick a form in the Red Sucks so early in the season.bluehenbillk wrote:No team that started 0-4 has ever won a WS. Better luck next year.

i always liked that one...bluehenbillk wrote:Larry Bowa had a great stroke of wisdom back when he was managing: Basically said, every year no matter how hard you try, you're going to win at least 60 games & your ging to lose at least 60 games, what you do in the other 42 is what determines your season.
but when you get nearly 10% of your losses out of the way without notching a win - maybe a few of those count toward the 42 "other" games

There is nothing ridiculous about this, unless by ridiculous you mean AWESOME!!
Oh man, Yanks are heading into Fenway next. And you know damn well they will do everything they possibly can to extend this losing streak. AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!
I only wish the Yankees could lose something in that series....

BTW, guess which team has given up the most runs this season and is 2nd in run differential. Just guess.
