Does something like that happen at every O's game?
Of the gaems I've been to in the last 3-4 years, I'd say someone runs onto the field 33% of the time.
Hot muggy summer games make drunk people do crazy things.
BTW, the idiot yesterday sobered up quick when he noticed the old police officer slowly following him had his baton out already. He layed down pretty quickly.
Just checked 46,653 were there. Nice crowd.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
Yup, but yesterday I was thinking... what would it take for you to believe the O's can compete? 10-0, 20-0, 30-0...?
I knew they could compete two months ago... this is going to go down among my best pre season picks ever, right there with picking Tampa to be competitive in 2008 and Colorado to make the series in 2007... people laughed at me both times... but I was right.

Red Sox 3.5 games out of first... just saying, Kreskin.

The '98 Yanks lost three games to start the season after a week of inactivity due to weather-related postponements of their last exhibition games.
The Sox got clocked three times by a good offensive team which exposed what I've said remains the Sox biggest weak spots: starting pitching and the bullpen.
And as long as that staff is pitching to Jarrod Saltalamacchia, even Lester and Buchholz are going to underachieve.

So that would mean that NO team has ever started the season 0-4 and won the World Series.
Yup. Hence teh Chasing History thread...
Nice. I just noticed that.
Watched the Sox game on MLB Extra Innings because the Yankees had their game in hand ( ). Beckett is throwing 92 MPH up in the strike zone and, in five innings, made just one really great pitch. Saw him get a pop out to SS on a meatball up in the zone that Arod or Tex would have blasted into the upper deck.
Nice to see Camden Yards full again, even for one game. It's sad what that once proud baseball town has turned into - back to reality probably attendance wise tonight.

meh - all it takes is winning baseball to get the fans back in a good market...
consider that the Twins - in the midst of 8 straight losing seasons - were pulling about 12,500/game. in 2001, when they were over .500 for the first time since 93... they drew 22.500 and that was to sit in the Metrodome during summer in MN...
now that they're outside - they're averaging just under 40k... 10k more than 09 in the dome...
