Bisonator it isn't all JBB and lakes, I think most people here realize what they are. They are merely around for the entertainment, like a DII school on a FCS schedule. They count but they really don't in the grand scheme of things.

Most of this spurs from 2007 over at AGS when some of our fans couldn't handle themselves and our success.

And we have a logical down to earth post.

FargoBison, TTBF, and Thundering Herd are all solid-to-awesome dudes. Fuck the rest of 'em.

Good post bearit. That's one of the problems with some NDSU fans. They have no sense of history in FCS and think that their accomplishments so far are unheard of when it's all been done before.

UNH has long been known as the FBS killer. Everybody knows about App, The Citadel, JMU, etc. Hell UM is 2-0 against Oregon St. in our last two meetings with em' and we have won four in a row over FBS Idaho.

The talk about NFL is **** stupid, we had four guys out of ONE class.

lakes get all hurt about someone hacking on him and his team when he almost never gets in a conversation about football. He just jumps in with a single one liner about how the school sucks.

Some of them just don't know and we have to coddle them along and educate them, that's just a fact of life. Help where you can.

Here among the faithful and knowledgeable fans of NDSU Football we arent talking about the 4 horseman, The Gipper or some such dim, but important, glory of past years. We are talking about what NDSU is doing now. If you are going to reach back to the days when NDSU was dominating the small colleges and then D2 the stellar and unmatched record amassed by the BISON and recorded in The BISON LORE is in play too. Heck NDSU beat Montana in 2 National Championship games.

For instance, recent history shows while the NDSU BISON were dismissing their latest FBS-BCS opponent the formally solid Montana Grizzlies were struggling with a D2 and SIU, perennial also-ran in the playoffs and MVFC, was beset with injuries. When NDSU was in the "bill fette bowl" everybody else was watching from the sidelines. Thats the history I know.

Well hell JBB I was referring to some of your ilk seeming to be under the impression that what NDSU is doing is something new. It is not. That's not to say it is not a solid start because it is. But that is all that it is.

Other teams like UNH are doing what NDSU has done with FBS teams...recently. If we are talking about since you moved up or have been eligible then I guess you could say the Griz have been in two out of three NC's since then...NDSU has been in zero.

i know u live in st paul but to say fargo is boring is down right stupid. the downtown here is pretty good for a city like fargo. it's packed on the weekends and can be a pretty good time

NoDakistanis get reflexively defensive about it - but the fact remains. the sidewalks roll up at 7pm. the best you can do is drink at one of a handful of bad bars and if you're lucky see an old movie at the Fargo Theater... (hell, even Phil Wong's is closed)

It's too bad I have been to busy to take part in these discussions. It definitely was a good read though. I enjoyed the video on why ND was the least visited state. They are spot on. But in defense of my state, it is a lot different than that video shows. Not sure about Bisonator's thoughts:

campus - all four years (was easier than dealing with the asshole landlords in town)

had a car, so i could go wherever in town... there just wasn't much to do...

and i repeat... now that Phil Wong's closed the city may be beyond help

North Carolina A&T
Fordham
NAU
Cal Poly

Man, this is THE elite list of schools in the FCS, for sure.

NDSU has done jack shit to warrant the kind of respect that comes with being "an elite program in FCS."

Florida A&M is a more prestigious FCS school than NDSU. They've actually won a championship.
