I turn in my sports fan card
I turn in my sports fan card
Twins suck
Clippers suck
Vikings suck - and can't draft for shit apparently
UNI will never win a national title - just a feeling I have
Michigan sucks lately
I'm pulling a D1B and retiring.

Terrible pick...at least at that point.
He was not a 1st round pick.
Vikings have now selected a 5 QBs since 2006 (John David Booty, Tyler Thigpen, Tarvaris Jackson, Christian Ponder)

Why do I get the feeling someone just hacked clenzy's account?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I am a Red Wings fan. It's pretty sad though when the highlight of my sports random is a team from a 2nd tier sport in America.Grizalltheway wrote:Shit, he's a Red Wings fan, isn't he?HI54UNI wrote:

Re: I turn in my sports fan card
are you serious? that is what's causing you to give up? sit down son and let me edjicate your ass...
while i never advocate giving up on one of your teams... i have done it... but here's the rub: there is NO GOING BACK. You bail on the Vikings now - and they make a run... you do not get to enjoy it or partake in it... such a thing would be shameful, shameful bandwagoning. personally, I gave up on the Vikings during the 2000 NFC Title game (the one they lost 42-0) I've never gone back - not even when they made their run a couple years ago... (in fact, I predicted, down to the play how their season would end... a Favre drive in the title game ending on a pick when they were withing field goal range)
however - as a Twins fan... and I mean lifetime fan... a fan who suffered through the rotten years (and owned season tickets for two of them) this Twins team may be underachieving... but they do not suck. They will not lose 95 games... they will not finish in last place... if this slow start is all it takes for you to lose faith - why didn't you jump off in 2006?
Third... you CHOSE to be a Clipper fan... you weren't born in to it like some horrible hereditary disease like normal people... you CHOSE your fate... (the why is still beyond me, Blake Griffin be damned) seriously - wtf were you thinking?
UNI wasn't a choice - once you enrolled you were locked in... you don't get to dodge that one even if you do turn in your fan card. that very expensive piece of paper on your wall is binding.
as for Michigan... the winningest program in college football history will not stay down forever. and - just think... we're about to pick up 7 wins over Ohio State in one day!
point being - the essence of being a fan, and really the only true joy in it... is suffering through the bad times so that you can enjoy the good. the Twins run of success wouldn't mean nearly as much if I hadn't sat through ever home game in the 97 loss 1999 season. I suffered with them... I celebrated with them. That's the only way it can work. Anything less is second rate.

As a Seahawks fan, I can relate completely. We've gotten through 2008 and 2009, and we're trending up again.

Hey Clenz, at least your team didn't draft a kicker in the fourth round.

I grew up on a farm south of Wibaux Mt and only had 2 TV channels. One carried the Twins and the Hamms Beer comercials. I was a big Harmon Killerbrew and Tony Oliva fan and then of course Rod Carew...................Gave up on the Twins and followed Rod C. went to the Angles. Been an Angles fan ever since. But still pull for the Twins occasionally!TwinTownBisonFan wrote:however - as a Twins fan... and I mean lifetime fan... a fan who suffered through the rotten years (and owned season tickets for two of them) this Twins team may be underachieving... but they do not suck.
