Maybe AZ really needs to promote that 1B they have in their AA affiliate. You know, the one with 9 HRs in 18 games? Hell, they've already taken to not pitching to him.

I just hope Oswalt is physically OK & we're not going to have to deal with lower back issues. Up to Hamels to save the sweep today - many Philly media types have wondered aloud if they'd lose three games in a row at all this year - could happen today, let's bring some bats. Anyone wanna put RaUUUUUUUUUUUUUl on a milk carton yet??

It's all over man. Time to shut the windows, turn out the lights, lock the doors, and just end it. Darn, it was going to be such a good summer too. Bummer.

For some reason, we keep finding reasons NOT to have him up with the big club. We'd rather pull Russell fucking Branyan or Juan fucking Miranda or Geoff fucking Blum or Melvin fucking Mora off the scrap heap than give someone with actual UPSIDE a chance. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

That being said, I'll be 6 rows behind the plate today for the finale as we go for the sweep!!!

manipulate his service time - call him up in late May so they get an extra year before they have to go to arbitration... teams do it all the time.

Have fun, AZ?

Hamels got the Phils back on the right track. Also a rare burst of offense today.

Is this thread about a parade years ago in Philly? Were AZ and Dback co-chairmen?

I did....it was my 20th wedding anniversary and my bride agreed to a baseball game for the second year in a row! She's a keeper....

To add insult to injury, however, I have Chris Young on my fantasy baseball team and elected to SIT him this week, given who he was facing....he's only hit 3 HR's and driven in 6 this series alone.

Sounds like Roy was given leave to go back to Mississippi to see if he still had a house.

Yep. You knew there'd be more than a few of these types of games this year. The offense doesn't show and the Phils win anyway.

Hamels did it all last night in 4-1 win over the Nats: threw a 5-hitter and hit a triple.

Still too many LOBs and GIDPs.
