What does JMU football bring to the equation that solves all of the Big East football issues? Nothing against JMU, I just don't know what you're alluding to here.danefan wrote:This may sound naive - but doesn't JMU solve all of the Big East football issues while simultaneously give VaTech a huge middle finger?

I was referring to the last 2 posts from UD fans. Somebody says something nice, and the Hens have to come out an shoot it down. Let us revel in our unreasonable hopes!GannonFan wrote:JMU2004 wrote:here come the UD fans on a JMU thread! Run!

Phenomenal. Wish App would've done something like this besides throwing a high school aluminum deck up on the east stands at the first sign of increased demand.JMUDuke2002 wrote:From the roof of Eagle Hall -- 11-story building.

They're going to need a crane with a very large boom (that's what she said) to clean up the streamers after games now.

Why? Don't they only throw those streamers when JMU scores? Shouldn't have to clean too much these days.93henfan wrote:They're going to need a crane with a very large boom (that's what she said) to clean up the streamers after games now.

Pictures don't do the stadium justice, very tall. It's right next to a heavily traveled Instersate, 81 and you can't miss it from 3 miles away. With lights, it will be advertized to thousands driving by 24/7

"-Club Level: (C): parking in Godwin Field next to stadium, suites all you can east and drink from 1.5 hrs before kickoff to end of 1st qtr, access to patio to watch the game, about 1k extra wide chairback seats with cupholders. 1-2 tickets is 2k donation, 3-4 is 3.5k.
2 tickets: 2k "donation" + $550 per ticket, $3100 a yr, 4 yr committment, $12,400
4 tickets 3.5k "donation" +$550 per ticket, $5700 per year, 4 yr committment, $22,800
-Chairback Level: (Purple) parking in Godwin Lot or Hanson Field, still close to stadium, about 1k chairback seats. $1500 "donation" for up to 2 tickets, $250 per ticket, so 2 tickets 2k per year."
I don't Club and Chairback sections will sell out with the prices JMU is asking. If those sections don't sell out come Aug that will mean zero sellouts.

Re: JMU Bridgeforth Stadium construction webcam
I have a lot of skepticism on these rosy attendance scenarios. I'll believe it when I see it. Remember, there is "announced attendance" and butts in seats, 2 totally different things. I'm predicting an attendance avg of about 20k.JMUpurplehazed wrote:My predictions:

It doesn't help that with JMU's 5 home games:
Sat, Sep 10 CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE Home TBA
Sat, Oct 01 RICHMOND (Homecoming) * Home TBA
Sat, Oct 08 MAINE * Home TBA
Sat, Oct 15 VILLANOVA (Family Weekend) * Home TBA
Sat, Nov 12 RHODE ISLAND (Senior Day) * Home TBA
Didn't put the least desireable Oct game, Maine, as HC or Homecoming, whcih makes no sense at all.
-IF JMU can sell out all the CLUB and Chairback seats opener might be a sellout only because JMU is pulling out all the stops- one of them being giving away 2 free tickets to every season ticket holder who ordered by last Dec. A sellout that isn't close to full.
-IF JMU can sell out all the CLUB and Chairback seats Parent's weekend might be a sellout- if so will be close to full, the fullest you'll see the stadium all season.
-Homecoming- don't see a sellout at all, 4 years ago:
also hosted UR in Oct for HC, with capacity 15k at the time.
JMU was 6-1, ranked 6th, UR was 5-2, ranked 14th, partially sunny, 65 degrees.
not a sellout, only sold 14,009
http://www.jmusports.com/fls/14400/stat ... chmond.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But if JMU did actually sell out 3 of 5 home games I would say they f'ed up because they didn't build the stadium big enough. You don't build it for current needs. You build it to grow into.

We love truckers...
There are a gazillion trucks on 81, no doubt...many, many potential future applications and football donors as well.
We are closer to I81 than DE is to I95...

Which brings up a question. How many colleges can say that they have a stadium next to the interstate for all to see? In VA I can think of none. But in the entire US or eastern seaboard, do not know?

Doesn't really count because that is really the home of the Eagles, it's just on loan for a few Saturdays to Temple.89Hen wrote:Templejmufan wrote:Which brings up a question. The last numbers I saw, about a month ago, were 24' x 60'.
Square footage wise, it puts it slightly smaller than UVA's, but about the same size as Kansas State's.
