Robert 'Tractor' Traylor Found Dead

Post by Appaholic »

Former NBA player Robert "Tractor" Traylor was found dead Wednesday on the bedroom floor of his oceanfront apartment in San Juan, Puerto Rico, police said.

Traylor had been missing for three days before friends went to visit him and found his body, according to police and Vaqueros de Bayamon, his team in Puerto Rico.

He apparently had a heart attack, the team and police said.

Traylor was not active for Vaqueros, as he was rehabbing a heel injury. He underwent a surgical procedure on his heart in 2005.

Sad story. I knew Traylor when I workd for the Cavs - most approachable guy on the team - kinda guy that would have a beer with you. RIP Big man.

RIP

I saw him play when Michigan came to Towson in 1997. Michigan hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds left to win 75-73. Man those were the days.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

I guess this shows how little I follow basketball. I'm not sure I'd ever heard of this guy before yesterday. :|

He was more dominant in college than the pros. Not sure he had a long NBA career actually. Maybe he did. I really only remember him because Michigan came to Towson and it was huge news. Pretty sure it's still the record attendance for the Towson Center. Close to 5100. Sold out and on channel 2.

That was like when David Robinson came to the old Field House at UD. I had to sneak in with the pep band to see that one.

Trade for Dirk Nowitzki has to go down as the worst of all time.

NBA or period?

If one is willing to switch sports, I think an argument could be made that 10 players for Herschel Walker or the Saints' entire draft for Ricky Williams would be worse trades than the Nowitzki trade.

Name one player from those trades that are in Dirk's stratosphere?
