Yea...I was thinking about Kendrick as I watched the final game today with Memphis...
I know he was pissed when he was traded...wonder how he's feeling right now...

Re: Dear Boston Celtics
Just checked out his player page at NBA.com. Hadn't heard of him before.
Looks to me (just based on stats) that he was traded at some point during the season (probably late) and was either injured or pretty much a role player before he was traded, and jumped into the starting lineup after the trade. If this is the case, he may have been the victim of a royal screw job in BOS before he was traded, given the post-trade results: he's in the starting lineup for a team that has a shot at a title, while the old team is out the door.
Is that assessment even close to the real story?

Kendrick's injury cost the Celtics game 7 against the Lakers last year and you would have thought an astute GM would have noticed.
The chemistry on this team was shot. They blew home court and any chance at a title when they made the trade..

He's been the C's starting center since 2007, and was a key cog on their championship team on the defensive end. They never lost a series when he, Garnett, Pierce, Allen and Rondo were the starting 5. Hell, if he was still around they probably would've beat the Heat and been the favorites for the title at this point. Trading him basically screwed Boston's season.

Just days after Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers agreed to a five year contract extension, he seems more ready than ever to talk about the moment that things went south for the Cs (no pun intended). Essentially calling the decision to trade Kendrick Perkins(notes) back at the end of February "bad timing," Doc has vindicated frustrated fans who voiced their concerns all along. While this isn't a big revelation to the fellow fans I know here in western Mass, it puts an exclamation point on just how important the team dynamic really was.

Re: Dear Boston Celtics
The Celtics window for a championship just slammed shut when they lost to the Heat.
They are only getting older and teams like the Heat, Knicks, and Bulls will only get better. I could see them being the 4th best team in the East very soon.
Vegas gave them 22-1 odds to win the 2012 Championship.
