2010: Williams earned All-America honors in 2010 and is a two-time first team All-Big Sky Conference selection. He had 54 total tackles with 6 1/2 sacks and four forced fumbles, as a junior after finishing with nine as a sophomore.
"Renard has gifts that I've never seen at this level," said Baldwin. "We expect him to have the best year of his career as a senior."
Selected as a second team selection on the Phil Steele College Football Preview Magazine and was selected as a preseason first team All-Big Sky selection by Phil Steele. A panel of media and sports information directors also selected him to its preseason All-BSC squad. He also received honorable mention on the Consensus Draft Services Preseason FCS Football All-American team. Listed as a starter at right defensive end on EWU’s preseason depth chart.
2009: Earned first team All-Big Sky Conference honors after finishing the season with 9 1/2 sacks to rank as the 11th-most in school history. He ranked 17th in FCS with an average of 0.79 sacks per game. He had a pair of sacks versus both Idaho State (10/3/09) and Stephen F. Austin (11/28/09), and had 1 1/2 versus Southern Utah (11/14/09). He also had a sack against California (9/12/09) to earn team defensive player of the week honors. He had a season-high six tackles in the loss in the FCS Playoffs to SFA.
2008: Started seven games at nose tackle, including the last four of the season. He was the team’s defensive player of the week against Sacramento State (11/1/08) when he finished with a career-high eight tackles. Williams had sacks in victories versus Montana State (10/18/08) and Weber State (11/22/08). He helped Eastern finish an impressive 11th in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivison in rushing defense (93.5), as well as fifth in sacks (3.09 per game) and ninth nationally in tackles for loss (7.9 per game).
2007: Redshirted.
HS: Graduated from South Kitsap HS in 2007. Earned first team 4A All-State honors as a defensive lineman from Associated Press as selected by sportswriters and broadcasters. The Seattle Times and WashingtonPreps.com also selected him to its All-State squads. He was selected to the Tacoma News Tribune All-Area team as he finished his senior season with 78 total tackles. Williams was also named to the Kitsap Sun All-West Sound team and he was the Narrows League Bay Division Bridge Division Defensive MVP. He also played fullback on offense. He was coached in football at South Kitsap by former Eastern linebacker D.J. Sigurdson (1986-89). He won the 2007 WIAA State 4A championship in the shot put with a toss of 59-3.
