NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview Alert
Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
Your problem is your point of view. If turn-overs affect a game bad calls do too. Same as a turn-over, same as a blizzard, same as the second worst game of the year, same as all of their excuses. It was Bill Fette.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Sure sounds like an excuse to me. The game was months ago. Let it go. Your obsession with this ref and EWU is getting really old, hell you are hijacking NDSU threads to talk about this.JBB wrote:Your problem is your point of view. Either get some help for you obsession
or
let it go. It was in the past. LAST SEASON. Are you going to be THAT GUY 10 years from now bitching and moaning at the tailgates about how EWU beat you? I sure as hell hope not...and if so..I feel for NDSU fans.

JaBBer, you had a perfect storm of events that converged in the bisuns favor, but you couldn't get it done.
1- after torching your so-called defense for a NCAA-record 230 yds rushing in ONE HALF ( ), EW's best player took the rest of the day off.
2- the weather went into the shitter which always narrows the gap in favor of a slower, less talented team, like the boson.
3- EW handed you FOUR TOs, (4!) in the 2nd half alone to go along with the crappy weather and the loss of TJ.
All of that and you want to blame the refs.
You need to move beyond anger and denial, it isn't healthy to spend this much time in the early stages off grieving so long after the event.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Im not going to go into it much more. Its a matter of historic record, but I advise you to check your figures on how many yards and how many points are directly related to bad calls. You will see that most of the EWU production was made possible by bad calls. There is nothing like a second or third chance or better yet having success of your opponent taken away by bad calls.
Excuses are the forte of the EWU crowd and of course SIU fans that claim their season was ruined by injuries, too many underclassman playing and too many mistakes including fumbles. Apparently excuses come with the territory if you are from SIU or EWU?

Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
The point that is being made, but was hijacked by EWU desperately trying to make their gift look like a win, was the importance of scheduling intra-divisional as opposed to inter-division, how intra-divisional scheduling is bad for the division, takes money out of the FCS game, is disrespectful to your conference, reduces playoff potential and defies the spirit of competition.
Its simple really, inter-divisional games should not be counted on the won/loss record of the FCS team. They are exhibition games and should be scored as such. Using an inter-divisional win, or in the case of some of the more egregious scheduling examples, using inter-divisional games as a tactic to pad the schedule with wins is the sign of a very weak program.
NDSU and other fine FCS programs only schedule inter-divisional. Thats what makes games like Lafayette so important. They promote the division, build relationships, proved meaningful media coverage in new markets and keep the money in the division.

Really? It seems to still bother you every day - not that that isn't understandable given the way you choked; once you've been around for a while and playoff appearances are no longer flukes, assuming you ever get to that level, you're going to find out that every team in the playoffs can point to a very few plays that were the difference in playing for the NC and going home. Very seldom is the outcome a simple matter of talent and athletic ability, as it was in your case.JBB wrote:Im not going to go into it much more. I love how after everything I post, you retort with a claim about me or EWU that describes almost to a T you and UNDS.JBB wrote:The point that is being made, but was hijacked by EWU desperately trying to make their gift look like a win, was the importance of scheduling intra-divisional as opposed to inter-division, how intra-divisional scheduling is bad for the division, takes money out of the FCS game, is disrespectful to your conference, reduces playoff potential and defies the spirit of competition.

Translation: I don't want to go into it much more because I'm getting owned at every turn. It's a matter of record in the boxscore how many yards and points EWU put on us, despite having 4 turnovers and the loss of their best player shortly into the second half. You will see that most of the EWU production was made possible by their more talented athletes. There is nothing like getting your ass kicked and not being able to cope with it, and reverting to blaming it all on the refs.JBB wrote:Im not going to go into it much more. Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
It would take a person with serious issues to not see that the vigorous promotion of his program is in all actuality doing the exact opposite.
Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
The obsession EWU fans have with their gift game against NDSU is puzzling? Is it the need to try and convince everyone that the game was decisive and the series of officiating errors had no impact on the outcome? Is it the fact they dont feel the respect and love for the title they have and they are anxious to convince everyone they are deserving? Is it an inferiority complex expressed by their ad hominen outbursts if there is any discussion of the gift?
Right now the big thing on my mind is intra-divisional scheduling. Games like Lafayette @ NDSU are models for other programs involved with inter-division scheduling. Some acknowledgment that inter-divisional scheduling is selfish or desperate or both would be enlightening. Either that or a change in the division rules that would allow the games to be counted. Why play a game that doesnt count?
Bringing in Lafayette is great for both schools. There are two fine football traditions coming together. Both schools will get meaningful exposure in new areas of the country. A relationship between the two universities will be started. The skys the limit there. Its good for the division. Inter-divisional games dont mean anything to the division unless the FCS team loses as they sometimes do. Take UND for example: Loss to an NAIA team. Take Montana: Loss to a D2 NDSU.
The way to bring more prosperity and competition into the division is to schedule intra-divisional games. The way to limit the prospects and take money out of the division is to scheduld inter-divisional.
Some leagues do a lot more of this than other leagues. When one league school does it the others now have the luxery to do it themselves without too much playoff risk. That tends to make the inter-divisional option more attractive. In time you end up with a league that makes a habit of inter-divisional scheduling which is bad for FCS football.

The obsession NDSU fans have with their decisive loss against EWU is puzzling? Is it the need to try and convince everyone that the game was jobbed by the refs and EWU's superior players had no impact on the outcome? Is it the fact they don't feel the respect and love as a D-I program and they are anxious to convince everyone that they belong? Is it an inferiority complex expressed by their incessant mentioning of Bill Fette?

Its interesting to see Lafayette getting no respect in the national pre-season polls. I didnt see them in the top 25 in either sporting news or Lindys. Thats odd for a team with such a fine tradition and from the east coast not getting any mention, especially considering how good their prospects are for next season.
NDSU has obviously caught the eye of LIndys, one of the nations most insightful rating services. Certainly they have a better handle on the national scene than sporting news, a reliable reporting service but rather unknowing as analysts.
This game will be a great chance for either team to make a statement. The winner is going to gain a lot of upward mobility on the national scene.

Is it? Not knocking Lafayette, but you don't typically see a lot of Patriot League teams in these pre-season polls.JBB wrote:Its interesting to see Lafayette getting no respect in the national pre-season polls.
