Restricting oil

Post by dgreco »

I do not know if this has been posted earlier, but I enjoyed Exxon being so outspoken.

http://www.exxonmobilperspectives.com/2 ... -supplies/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112s ... s394is.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, if reading the bill correctly, I enjoy the field preemption that they added towards the end.

At face, the bill seems unenforceable...

...yet if the same anti-trust mechanisms agreed upon by the WTO are applied to oil producers, then I can foresee either this bill, or future bills, enabling enforceable global energy producer anti-trust measures.

I'll agree this is a smokescreen (one only need see the Bill's authors to know it's hidden agenda), but still the same, it moves the ball downfield.
