Re: Rivalries
I don't think NDSU/UNI is a rivalry yet, but it does have potential, just due to the fact that we hate each other. The Bison string together a couple wins and you just might have something brewing. This years game should be a real good one. I am sure there will be the smart ass comments now about getting a couple of wins, so lets hear em. Not to be cocky, but NDSU will become one of the best in the MVFC, its just too good of a program with loads of financial and fan support. There won't be a team in the MVFC that consistently will beat us......UNI has done that the last three years or so very well and hats off to them they are a very good program, but even with the average teams we have had in recent years no other MVFC team has consistently beaten us. All due respect to UNI and SIU as they have been the two duking it out for the MVFC, but NDSU is gonna be in that mix most years from now on. Now mind you I am not saying we will dominate by any means, just saying we will consistently challenge for the MVFC title.

Before the 90's that's how our rivalry with Grambling was, the less we said about football the better.ASUG8 wrote:The Cullowhee guys don't like to talk about it much - they do better in basketball and baseball.tampajag wrote: that is the true definition of making somebody your bitch.

Re: Rivalries
I'm not sure how big of rivalries they will actually turn out to be but I think three games to watch every year starting this year will be...
Old Dominion vs. James Madison
Old Dominion vs. William & Mary
Old Dominion vs. Georgia State
I think these will be three primiere games for the conference.

Maybe, MAYBE, the ODU/GSU game, solely because the loser of this game will have a leg up onTowson College as the sucko team of the conference.

it will be more than a leg up on Towson. Neither Georgia State or ODU will ever be as consistently bad as Towson.bandl wrote:futureodualum11 wrote:I'm not sure how big of rivalries they will actually turn out to be but I think three games to watch every year starting this year will be...

Re: Rivalries
For the record, just about all conference games are somewhat of a rivalry. You might as well throw Delaware and Richmond in there too since the only criteria would seem to be that the game be regularly played amongst programs that (may) usually win football games, sometimes.futureodualum11 wrote:I'm not sure how big of rivalries they will actually turn out to be but I think three games to watch every year starting this year will be...

Good point SLL. Thats what makes conference play so interesting and so unpredictable.State Line Liquors wrote:For the record, just about all conference games are somewhat of a rivalry.

UND/Sioux Falls is one that's really starting to heat up.
