Should have stayed at UVA IMO.

But he wanted to play Basketball too

Had a decent career in the NFL

How many of you knew Allen Iverson was a pretty good QB in overly celebrated 757?

But Basketball was the choice.

I mentioned a lot of QB's. How about Percy Harvin. Also from the overly celebrated 757. Great career in Florida and now a Viking.

How about Tyrod Taylor. From Hampton High to Virginia Tech to the Baltimore Ravens.

No really??, there's talent all over the country?????? Of course there is. Don't worry, Coach Wilder knows it. Our QB is from California. That's pretty scary isn't it? When you have one of the most highly recruited regions in your backyard and the ability to recruit coast to coast. We got the Virginia and Georgia player of the year.
The 757 is a pipeline to many schools. One of them is ODU. Why hate? Your boys are down here every year recruiting.

Sorry, No. How about more requests for players in the overly celebrated 757?

757 standout _____________ chose ODU over _____________

Just fill in recruits name and losing school. You'll be hearing this over and over again.

Scary? JUCOs are usually pretty easy pickings.

Of course UD recruits Eastern Virginia. We also recruit the Central part of Virginia, probably a little bit in Western Virginia and just about everywhere else from Maine down to Florida. Saying a recruiting territory is 'overrated', believe it or not, isn't hating, it's an observation. There's more kids on the Rivals 250 from 'the 804', 'the 215' or 'the 609' than the Tidewater. (Is it really neccesary to make such a big deal of a 3 digit number given to you by the phone company, by the way? :ohno: ).

Delaware has relatively little in-state talent, so we need to leave the State to get most of our talent. In doing so, there is little reason for us to spend any more time in Eastern Virginia than there is in Richmond, in Charlotte, in South Jersey, in Baltimore or Washington, in Southeastern PA, or Southwestern PA, Florida, Georgia, etc.

Coach Wilder is just a baby in this game, so he'll get all the recruiting figured out as he goes...just be patient with him. Wilder did a pretty decent job during his tenure as a bench coach with Maine, so I've got a lot of confidence he at least has the smarts and prior experience to get you folks to the middle of the CAA pack some years.

Precisely, Thumper. And the only place you'll be 'hearing this over and over' is in the local Tidewater/Hampton Roads paper by the rube whose responsibility is fellating his readers' bizarre and over-inflated local football ego.

Oh I forgot the 757's Plaxico Burress, from Green Run High to Michigan State to Super Bowl Hero.....ok to convicted felon. But good news, at least 8 teams are ready to make him an offer.

Sorry State Line, you're hating and not making an observation. But it's your opinion that I'm not going to change.

I mean, why would an FBS school from the prestegious ACC bring their entire team to the 757 for spring workouts, if it wasn't to enhance it's profile for recruiting purposes.

UVa is no ACC football power. London did his farming in the Tidewater area in his past life, so bringing UVa down there was not a earth shattering experience. Let us know when FSU has some drills in Tidewater. 757 is overrated, unless you add felonies as style points.

He first went to the 757's ODU Foreman Field, Then came back the next year to the iconic Darling Stadium. Deny the importance of this region all you want.

That wasn't the point fan of school with racist name. Pick out bits and pieces of talking points all you want. The former UVA head coach didn't shop here. Coach Beamer did. Sharp contrast. London took notice. I must LOL at the denial. The scary part is, these athletes know the 757 is a recruiting mecca and they work hard to be the best and reap the rewards of a scholarship.

Heck! Even far away Western Michigan has it's hand in the 757 cookie jar

http://recruit757.com/2011/05/12/wester ... lent-pool/

I mean come on, even pro players come up to former 757 stars for autographs.

The Governor has already punished VCU for raising tuition. Now the students are going to cough up more for the Basketball program to the tune of $733,000. It may not happen. I want them to start a team as VCU is our true rival. This game would need at least 50,000 seats.

Burger, I'll admit that I'm 'hating' and not making a conscious, thought-out decision on the quality of recruiting in your part of Virginia in comparison to the rest of the country, when you acknowledge that you once took a coupon to Sports Authority to buy knee pads for a Friday out with the Mayor of Norfolk.

VCU Football sooner or later will be a reality. This whole conference realignment is driven on football and I think at some point the VCU Athletics Adminstration will realize that if they haven't realize it already which I think they have. If they don't get football than they will be left behind in the dust while other CAA Football schools (JMU, ODU, GSU) will get invitations to FBS conferences. VCU fans are in denial as they say the only level of college football that matters is BCS, what they don't realize is that they probably will need to have football in order to even have a remote chance to be invited to the Big East, ACC, SEC. Having football at any level benefits schools financially. I see big things in the near future for ODU and JMU and at the same time I see VCU being a non-football school stuck in some mid-major conference as their basketball programs play in some glorified high school gym as the only thing they have to be proud about is ONE final four appearance.

On several occasions in the past 2 years, Tribe fans have attended ODU football games. Some of you have already expressed interest in attending the JMU game in October. Some of our biggest fans are Tribe fans. Thanks for supporting ODU Football.

If you go to Tribeathletics.com and go to the football roster page, you'll notice that the majority of players don't have their majors listed. I found only 2 and they were kinesiology majors lol. I guess Cafeteria Management isn't something W&M will admit it offers it's athletes.

Your research abilities are simply breath taking... I just checked the bios on 8 W&M Jr's and Sr's. All had majors listed, you need to click on the players name and scroll to the bottom of the bio. It really doesn't take that good an education to figure it out. Checked several underclassmen and they did not have majors listed. Majors don't have to be declared until end of Soph/beginning of Jr year.

I did. Found only 2 under "MAJOR". I think you need to try harder for laughs.

They are hidden in other categories. Every other sports site has the players concentration under "Major" .

What the f(uck) is up with Majoring in kinesiology lol.

OK I admit I found a few which makes me laugh. Economics and Kinesiology I think these are phantom majors. What's hiding behind is the true major. Hotel Management.

You know, I do hope that VCU acquires the stadium, if VCU got into CAA football (and I know it's been stated before) then ODU would have it's biggest rival in football too, and that'd be too much fun.

And I got some friends that'll be going to VCU next year and I think it'd be great in the future to be able to rub our football wins against them in their faces ;D
