Former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies star Lenny Dykstra was jailed Monday on grand theft auto and drug possession charges after being accused of using phony information to lease a car from a Southern California dealership.

Dykstra, 48, was charged with 25 misdemeanor and felony counts of grand theft auto, attempted grand theft auto, identity theft and other crimes, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. He faces up to 12 years in state prison if convicted.

Dude has completely fallen off a cliff. From multi-millionaire day-trader whiz kid to druggie car thief in a matter of 2 years.

HBO sports documentary in the making.

They did a feature on RealSports about six months ago and found him basically squatting in his house IIRC. It was hilarious.

I love watching this idiot fall apart. :thumb:

For as much as I liked him for a while as a player, he proved to be a POS of a human being.

When Dykstra and Daulton were in that car accident back in the early 90's they ended up at the hospital where my wife worked. According to the nurses that cared for them, Dykstra was jackass and Daulton was nice.

I liked Lenny as a player, but he was never a guy that I wanted to meet.
