Re: US Open
Was in D.C. a couple years ago, and 89Hen hooked me and a buddy up and we got to play Congressional. It was a great day, but it was the middle of February (60 degrees, though)....the course didn't look anything like it does today on TV!
If anybody has been to D.C. in the winter, you know what I'm talking about....VERY brown....
Oh, and I can confirm: 89Hen IS black.

This area is very VERY bleak during the winter but there is that one day occasionally during the middle of winter where it feels like spring.AZGrizFan wrote:Was in D.C. a couple years ago, and 89Hen hooked me and a buddy up and we got to play Congressional. Also looks like McIlroy will win, he has a 10 shot lead and is at -16 under thru 4.

A very "Tiger-ish" win by McElroy.....ODUalum11 wrote:Has an 8 shot lead at -16 thru 17...pretty much over.

Diner guests told me NBC cut Under God from the pledge and received a few nasty calls causing them to announce during the telecast that they were sorry.
They just can't help themselves.

Shit like that is just unnecessary. If true, they deserve whatever they have coming to them. I couldn't believe that...
Re: US Open
what pledge? do they make all the golfers stand up and pledge allegiance to the flag?Bronco wrote:Diner guests told me NBC cut Under God from the pledge and received a few nasty calls causing them to announce during the telecast that they were sorry.

that seems odd, given that only 2 americans finished in the top 10 (Robert Garrigus and Kevin Chappell tied for third, along with an englishman and a korean)

They played it when they started coverage. They wanted to highlight the patriotic sense of holding the US Open in DC for the third time. Kids were reciting it and they edited out "under God, invisible"JayJ79 wrote:what pledge? do they make all the golfers stand up and pledge allegiance to the flag?Bronco wrote:Diner guests told me NBC cut Under God from the pledge and received a few nasty calls causing them to announce during the telecast that they were sorry.

editing out "under god" from the pledge is like editing out swear words in movies on network/basic cable television. *shrugs*NDSUFREAK wrote:They played it when they started coverage. Re: US Open
False. The announcer that comes on after that intro talks about American values and what not and then they edit out "under God"? If they wanted to tribute American patriotism and what we stand for then play the ENTIRE Pledge of Allegiance. NBC is going to get hit HARD because of this and they deserve it. There is no reason to take it out.JayJ79 wrote:editing out "under god" from the pledge is like editing out swear words in movies on network/basic cable television. *shrugs*NDSUFREAK wrote: They played it when they started coverage. If they take a hit for it, it will be a shame because I view NBC to be one of the better television networks.NDSUFREAK wrote:False.
