Does look like its gonna be a really nice stadium though....
And this is what is known as a boondoggle. Who the hell was dumb enough to pay for this thing?
Not sure, they barely have any fans so I'm not sure why they need a new stadium. The NFL was asking the dolphins to put a retractable roof on SL Stadium anyway so I think the Marlins and Dolphins should have partnered up and put one on there. It's not like the stadium is outdated. It's actually a pretty nice stadium. Been there for 4-5 marlins games and a couple football games including the Florida-Oklahoma NC game a couple years ago.
I'll be surprised if they sell out that first game in the new stadium.

I disagree - even the conceptual drawings aren't exciting for this place... it looks like Minute Maid Parks homely sister...
I don't love retracto-roofs anyway - but if you need them (and very few places really do) Miami is one of those places... that being said - there is a right way, and a wrong way... this was very much the wrong way.
Safeco? right way. even Toronto is okay... but the rest make you feel like you're watching the game in an airplane hangar...
This place looks to have very little atmosphere, very little character... it looks like... well it looks like a ballpark designed and built by the jackasses who built a city full of crappy high-rise condos.

Well the stadium isn't completely finished yet obviously so I'm gonna wait until then. I think it will look a whole lot better when it's actually finished.

I'm a huge dork for these kinds of things - and even the concept drawings for parks that end up sucking look good beforehand... (Nationals Park and New Busch) these don't even excite me... granted - as a Twins fan I'm spoiled rotten by Target Field - which EXCEEDED the drawings in every measurable way...

Yeah, Safeco after seeing that pic is definitely one of my favorite stadiums with a retractable roof. I guess I do see where you're saying that its like watching a game in a hanger. I'm not too crazy about Milwuakee's stadium but I like Arizona's stadium as well as Houston's stadium....

I've been to Miller Park - never to Chase Field... Miller Park is the consummate "airplane hangar" feel - even when the roof is open it feels closed. Milwaukee didn't need the roof - it cost millions - forced delays and killed three workers... what a waste.

Yeah at least with Chase Field and Minute Maid Park they have some character...Miller park has absolutely ZERO character.
