B-Sox are 45-37. Yeah. That 100 wins is really looking probable.

11. Brandon Belt and Mike Moustakas are your Rookies of the Year, Ubaldo is your Cy AL - I'm not sure, Mauer and Pujols your MVP's - the comeback poy's Morneau and Johan Santana (who will come back in June and be a force)

There's a commercial that airs routinely that has a cat driving and being chased by a dog (also driving)...reminds me of Toonces every time I see it...93henfan wrote:TOONCES, LOOK OUT!!! <cliff>JoltinJoe wrote:

Re: UNHWildCats 2011 MLB Predictions
● My MLB The Show squad will win more games than the actual 2011 Red Sox, but the Red Sox will win more games than at any other time in team history. Still possible
● The Red Sox will win three of the top five season awards (MVP, Cy Young, Comeback Player (So many to choose from). MVP is solid, Comeback solid, CY less solid but possible
● 3/4 of the Sox infield will make the All Star team. Youk and AGon are virtual locks... Pedroia could sneak in
● By the end of May Sox fans will still have questions about one of the teams starting pitchers, and it wont be Matsuzaka. OK. so they do have questions about one of the starting pitchers aside from Matsuzaka (Lackey) But also about Matsuzaka
● Boston will e on cruise control in the East by the end of June. OK so I have the right to be horribly wrong about something right?
● Marco Scutaro will be traded by the July deadline. This was possible after the start Lowrie had, less so now that he is hurt... but if Boston can get a RH outfielder for Scutaro, they Sox will go with Sutton at SS
● Jarrod Saltalamacchia will hit over .300 with 35+ doubles and 15+ homers. Salty after a horrid start has been solid. Hitting over .300 the past 7 weeks. On pace right now for 25 doubles and 11 HR... a hot streak could boost those numbers to near prediction
● Two Sox starters will throw no hitters in 2011, both saved by great defensive plays in the ninth inning. Josh Beckett was oh so close to a perfect game a couple weeks ago allowing only a infield dribbler down the third base line... obviously with half a season to go this is still very much possible.
● Baltimore will emerge as a force in the AL East and make a run for second place. This looked good early on, but they ran outta gas fast.
● The AL Wild Card will not come from the AL East. No one looks overly impressive in the AL so far, at this post the wild card could come from Mars.
● The Twins will have the honor of losing to Boston in the ALCS. WOW, thats all I can say.
● Joe Mauer will silence all the non believers on CS.com geeze...
● Atlanta will win the NL West by a game. solid team, they wont fade, may not win the east, but will be there at the end.
● Philadelphia will NOT be the NL Wild Card. this was originally based on the assumption Atlanta would win the east, but still they wont be the Wild Card since they will have the best record in the NL
● Colorado will win the NLCS. they need to get it going
● Boston will rough up Ubaldo Jiminez twice in the World Series as they will win their third title in eight years. Still likely since the rest of baseball is roughing him up. Well aside from Colorado not playing well enough to make the playoffs
● Carlos Gonzalez will win the NL MVP award. another bad call
● Casey Kelly will be winning games in San Diego on a regular basis by seasons end. we'll see
● Roy Halladay will throw three no hitters as he wins the NL Cy Young award. Did I really say 3 no hitters?
● Jonathan Papelbon will rebound in a big way in 2011 and will be rewarded with a huge contract by New York. ERA right where it was last season, strikeouts up, walks WAY down... still safe bet he ends up in New York next year... unless...
● This time next year Abert Pujols will be playing for New York or Boston as the highest paid player ever. New York does something crazy and actually does sign Pujols, or Fielder. Talk this week is NY will sign one of them, though Pujols seems less likely now.
● The Red Sox will win three of the top five season awards (MVP, Cy Young, Comeback Player (So many to choose from). MVP is solid, Comeback solid, CY less solid but possible

Why would those guys go to NY or Bos? Both teams are set at 3rd and 1st for many years to come, and I doubt Fielder and Pujols, who are still relatively young, are ready to go and DH for a living.● This time next year Abert Pujols will be playing for New York or Boston as the highest paid player ever. Re: UNHWildCats 2011 MLB Predictions
If NY is willing to pay Fielder the kind of money he will want to be mostly a DH he would be stupid to turn it down. That said. NY needs to add another big bat with A Rod getting older they need another big bat to sit in the middle of the lineup with Tex.... and Fielder and Pujols are the big bats on the market... NY if the really want one of them, will offer money that either would be hard to say no to, and Fielder is the liklier of the two.DJH wrote:Why would those guys go to NY or Bos? Those guys should see what the Yanks offer and then come play for the Phils for $30 million less. 66-22 is possible about like Ubaldo Jimenez winning 30 was "still possible" last year. But THIS year, Travis is on the other side of the argument.dbackjon wrote:My MLB The Show squad will win more games than the actual 2011 Red Sox, but the Red Sox will win more games than at any other time in team history. Travis, I have no idea what you look like, but did you happen to have attended the Phillies-Red Sox game this afternoon with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

it would actually be 60-22 not 66-22.... not likely, but not impossible...dbackjon wrote:My MLB The Show squad will win more games than the actual 2011 Red Sox, but the Red Sox will win more games than at any other time in team history. Still possible - 66-22 is NOT HAPPENING
Okay, I just went through the remaining schedule after I typed the previous line and I admit, its unlikely they get 106 wins... but 98ish is possible

I don't think I was wrong about Adrian Gonzalez, although I'm sure I said something like he was a NL star who would never amount to anything in the AL East, just to tweak you.UNHWildCats wrote:I you ready to admit that you were wrong about Adrian Gonzalez?JoltinJoe wrote:

Re: UNHWildCats 2011 MLB Predictions
checking in on mine:
2. Still seems likely
3. 5 under was too generous
4.
blew this call in a fairly epic way... didn't see the disaster season looming...
5. addressed in previous post.
6. looking like it's on track to happen
7. I think ATL may be the WC team
8. Roy Oswalt.
9. Looking safe
10. The Phils will be there... who they will wail on is up in the air... but I HIGHLY doubt it will by my hometown 9...
1. So far so good on this one... the gnashing was awful... and Karl Ravetch is doing his throat exercises for the coming months1. the sox will win the east - but not without gnashing of teeth early and much fellating late by the house organ in bristol
2. Dice-K won't be in the rotation by September
3. Baltimore will finish at least 5 under .500 and 4th in the East
4. The Twins will beat the Sox in the LCS
5. if there are Joe Mauer non-believers left, they need bicycle helmets in everyday life
6. Atlanta still won't be in the NL West by September... but will be 8-10 back of the Phils by then
7. Atlanta will contend for the WC
8. The Phils WILL have one of the four aces go down to a season ending injury - but it won't derail them
9. The Rockies won't make the playoffs
10. The Phils and the Twins will play an epic fall classic with echoes of the greatest world series ever played (1991 of course)
11. Brandon Belt and Mike Moustakas are your Rookies of the Year, Ubaldo is your Cy AL - I'm not sure, Mauer and Pujols your MVP's - the comeback poy's Morneau and Johan Santana (who will come back in June and be a force)

Nobody could have predicted that he would be out with injury for all but 13 games thus far.
