You do realize the PL is 3-1 against the GFC/MVFC all time in the playoffs which includes Lehigh's win over UNI last year?

Also, the PL might be "non scholarship" but in terms of financial commitment, facilities, etc they stack up with just about everyone in FCS. Here's a bit of trivia, Lehigh is the ONLY FCS program to make the playoffs in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s.

NDSU will not blowout Lafayette.

Also, that speaks more to the pathetic-ness of the MVFC than the strength of the PFL. :ugeek:

Lehigh and Lafayette had a real battle last year. Best game Lafayette played. They will be a better team this season.

The game offers a lot of interest to all fans. UNI of course is going to be glued to their sets. After the loss to Lehigh in the playoffs last year at home, and a lot of talk like we are hearing from the peanut gallery in this thread, the Panther fans and their football organization are a lot more respectful of the PL and need to keep tabs on it. Its funny reading the comments from some fans of one of the countries weaker conferences. The BSC is not exactly a juggernaught from the ground up.

Running down Lafayette is not going to diminish the importance of this football game. The score will be watched by all relevant programs in the country, the results will move the polls in a significant way, the crowd will be one of the largest in the country for an FCS game and larger than a majority of the FBS games that weekend.
Running down Lafayette with ignorant, arrogant and unsupported statements wont take this game off the FCS Marque.

Maybe not, if your QB is a good runner. They seem to have trouble with QBs that can run.

Im not sure what you are trying to say silllynoise, but listing some won/loss conference standings for several consecutive years certainly proves nothing.

From what you have posted I see one of the nations most powerful conerences, top to bottom, with equity apparent. As NDSU begins to seperate itself from the pack many of you will begin to compare the BISON to the old Montana Dynasty, which is obvious to all is now in decline simiar to SIU. UNI may have also peaked and is now on the downward spiral. This will be an interesting year in the MVFC. It is going to be interesting to see who emerges as NDSUs main rivals now and over the next several years.

You have to cut them a little slack Gil. Most of these fans are from programs with a much smaller scope than the NDSU Football Conglomerate's national presence.

You have to watch out for Montana and SIU fans. They are riding their programs down. The EWU fans have no experience with success - it shows doesnt it! The UNI fans are like cows grazing along with no comprehension of whats going on around them.

All of this can cause tensions, and, as you have seen, ellicit regretable behaviors and remarks from fans of each of those named programs. Its a shame, really, but it has a postiive side. Their behavior can be held in contrast to the sportsman like way the NDSU fans go about the promotion and support of their team. This comparison will certainly reveal the sharp distinction of those fans with the outstanding nature of the NDSU fans.

This game we are discussing is just a payoff for both schools in a growing competition between NDSU, the rest of the MVFC and the eastern schools including the PL. These are all teams in our division. They are peer insitituions and good games. Some of them, like this one, will rise to the level of national importance. Im just glad NDSU has this game. Its a good opening contest for both schools.

All of these fan bases are showing signs of growing pains as they adapt to the wide, national scope of the NDSU program and the NDSU fans, Bisonator excluded of course.

Because UNI doesn't have a JBB or lakes. Montana does (David2, Growler/woflman/pickle), but they haven't bothered becoming a presence over here so we're off the hook.

You think the reactions Opie got were because he's a GSU fan?

The lack of breadth the conference has shown. Its a one trick pony with a couple minor players and UND, for goodness sake!
