Native American nicknames are a big deal in Wisconsin too:
Also, schools ordered to get rid of race-based nicknames by the state would have until Jan. 15, 2013, to comply instead of within 12 months in most cases.

As you know squawker, a win over NDSU, even if the credit does goes to bill fette, is the biggest win a school can get. It is the highlight of the EWU football history thats for sure.

In a more relevant time frame, its 16-8 NDSU since 1980 squawker, then UND quit playing in 2003. It was a long run of games. It could have been longer but they quit the series 3 times since the 1890s.

Now they are your new best buddies in the Big Sky. Good Luck they are all yours if they dont bolt to the WAC first!

JBB, you're just going to have to accept the fact that NDSU is UND's bitch. I can understand why you're bitter (it's much like MSU fans toward UM), but JFC dude, let it go. I have no love or hatred for UND, they're just a new team to beat up on... something the prairie cows have struggled with.

B the W, EWU's curb stomping of the prairie cows doesn't even make our top ten list of wins. Beating subpar teams from mid-tier conferences is pretty regular and mundane stuff for EWU.

You're welcome. :thumb:

The quarterfinal game was not a curb stomping. The BISON defense took out your stellar RB and if it wasn't for the worst 2 minute defense I have ever seen, you wouldn't have gone to frisco. So no, it wasn't a curb stomping.

But all that aside, this is getting really freaking annoying between JBB and lakes. Give it up.

The folks up at UND are completely off their rocker. They are now saying that NDSU, through representative Al Carlson, set up UND for failure by passing the bill making it law UND use their current native american identity.
Mike Jacobs, editor of Grand Forks Hearold wrote:One (cause of controversy), current in Grand Forks, might be called rival’s revenge. Carlson’s from Fargo, and he’s a self-professed North Dakota State University Bison fan. Perhaps, he wants to harm UND.
http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/a ... id/208648/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I doubt its true but if it is there are certain implications:

1) The UND constiuancy is easily dupped. Head UND hockey coach actually provide the push to get the bill passer with his impassioned email to supporters. Other visible figures were actively supporting the legeslation as well.
2) UND leadership is weak and unable to control its destiny or image

The other, that is an attack on the Board of Higher Education may be true, but it sounds like he is just grinding his axe.

The third that it is somehow Dr. Chapmans fault is completely looney and it sounds like he is off his rocker.

UND alumns supported this bill. They put pressure to see it passed. The leadership at UND was divided and the president and AD ignored. The legeslators in Grand Forks voted against this bill but the rest of the ruling body was heavily in favor, mainly because of the political pressure from UND supporters. Were all these UND folks stupid and didnt see the big trap or just stupidly doing what they thought best for UND. Either way they are stupid and that is in line with the past 50 years or so and the way UND has handled this identity crisis.

The rest of the business about Dr. Chapman and how the UND overuns on their Presidents house arent a matter of conern is bewildering to me. This guy is an editor but coming off more as a paranoid. If Dr. Chapmans house overurns were a crime so were UNDs house overruns. Besides, the problems UND has now are not Dr. Chapmans fault.

So now you guys hang your hat on injuring opposing players? I guess you have to resort to that when your team gets lit up for 200+ rushing yards in a half... :ohno:

Wow, a little late on the response there. I'm not hanging my hat on that but it was just a response to the apparent "curb stomping" NDSU received from EWU. The defense was sure taken back from TJ's running but the physical play soon caught up to him...too bad that's the way he got out of the game with an injury but really, how many running backs keep up that pace anyway in the 2nd half. I've never seen a running back continue that dominance anyway.

At least other fans can admit they got taken to the cleaners by him, and don't feel the need to gloat about him going out injured.

I've never saw a defensive line do an offensive line like I did last year in the UNI/NDSU game.....Trends can/do continue through the second half

Check out Tyler Roehls stats for the last BCS/FBS game against the Minnesota Gophers. You will see that Roehl was over 200 in the first half without any crazy refering that game him more chances then he deserved. Roehl earned his yards. He put up just under 100 in the second half in that Big BISON WIN. It should also be mentioned that Pat Paschall was also in the backfield. Roehls performance is one to be proud of and there will be no snickers or mention of officiating. It was clean and it was earned by individual effort and superb team play.

I don't think there are any RBs with the kind of stamina it would take to continue that pace...

Im sure you can consider that among the best and greatest acheivments in UNI football history. But remember, there were nor bad calls when Roehl put those numbers up against a BCS school. TJ was cruising with the refs. Got chances he shouldn't have had and in the end was beaten down by the game. Not a real impressive performance if taken as a whole but if all these guys want to do is reiterate the part of the stroy that proves they are big me then they live in a fantasy world.

TJs performance was no big deal, no NCAA recored and nothing NDSU running backs dont do on a regular basis. When you are cognizant of what happened its actually funny, bragging about big daddy fette giving you a silver spoon and then bragging about how good you are!

Imagebully for you!

Why you guys insist on going on and on about the terrible officiating at the NDSU @ EWU game is beyond me, but you have something to prove. Maybe you think if you go on and on the achievement will gain some legitimacy instead of being something that is snickered at?
