I hear they're playing a good team this weekend. :coffee: ;)
Last year at this time the Braves were 5 games up on the Phillies.

Why don't you start a Braves thread if you like them so much?
Ok, my bad. I will not post in here again. :|

But it's so much more fun to take a furman all over your parade.

Post where ever you want. But answer my question, if you like the Braves so much why don't you start a thread for them? I don't think you're the only Braves fan here.

All you are doing is posting Braves results, which is fine, but it's a little early to be scoreboard watching.

Yup, if we play like that we're going to end up close to a .666 winning percentage. Man what a bummer.

I was more commenting on the pattern than the winning percentage.

I would like to see more of a "step on the throat" mentality though. If you watched the game last night, you have to concede that the Phils played uninspired and just plain sloppy. The errors were pretty bad. Granted, South Florida in July, yada yada, but these guys get paid ridiculous sums of money for a reason. :twocents:

If I had to watch Kendrick, Herndon, and Baez all take the hill in the same game, I'd be pretty uninspired too. That's almost a negative of having so many aces on the staff - when an ace isn't on the hill it just feels like a letdown.

With that said, the "step on the throat" mentality has been there - they stepped it up for the Red Sox series (Hamels going out in the 4th inning with the hand injury was a pretty big factor in the last game, no?). We'll see what they do with the Braves this weekend.

Well, the Phillies throw Halladay, Lee and Hamels at the bravos. I will disappointed if they don't take at least two of three.

And we miss Jurgens (sp) and Hudson. Two out of three at a minimum is what I want to see as well.

I'm more PO'd that we got 4 run leads early in the away games in Toronto and Miami and couldn't hold on.

Ditto, 86. Three errors, and Dom Brown missing second base? Little leaguers have better baseball sense.

No. Way too early, plus, thanks to the wild card even if Atlanta overtakes the Phils the playoffs are still a strong posibility. Should be a good series this weekend.

You'll be 5.5 back in less than 72 hours. For HALF THE PRICE! :D

??? Once again, Braves fans getting all worked up over where the standings are in late June/early July. You'd think last year would've been a good refresher on not getting worked up over mid-season standings. I mean, the Braves had that "we finished first in the NL East Division for the First Half of the Year" parade last year and then were mystified as the Phils cruised by them in style in the second half. All that matters is where you end up on Sept 28th. And even then, that only really matters until the playoffs start a couple of days later. It's understandable that Braves fans would prefer not to think of the postseason and what happens there, I mean, after all those division titles and precious little post season success to go along with it. Maybe they've learned to jump on success since they are unlikely to have some the later the year goes on???

Day night DH either Saturday or Sunday?? Tonight's game isn't looking too great weather-wise, been some decent rain going on for last 2-3 hours and not supposed to go away till the AM. No way Phils are going to start a game with Halladay on the hill knowing he may only pitch a few innings before a lengthy rain delay. The Phils have zero long men out of the bullpen on their staff.

Go easy on Scott, Johnny Reb. He just has a high, hard fastball with no movement on it. Perfect hitter's pitch!

If you have to dip deep into the Phillies bullpen they're in trouble, but last night they showed that the back end of their pen is as good as it gets. Stutes continues to do well, nobody in baseball is a better reliever this season than Tony the Bastard and then Perez gets added to the list of pitchers that strike out the side in 9 pitches.

Chipper went on the DL today for his knee.
