No shit. Alpha would fight Grizo for him, and I'd hate to see such an icon get beat down like that.

As Lakes would say its raining bitches for EWU. Now back to the discussion we were having before EWUs montana bitches got all excited and we had a flap in the henhouse.

NDSUFreak continues to downplay this game. I have no idea what that guy is about. This game is huge on the national scene and will be a major game of interest to all the the nationally competitive teams in the FCS. Why?

1) Both schools have a long and successful football tradition.
2) NDSU is a top ten national contender and this game will move the polls at the highest level
3) It will be a sellout and one of if not the biggest FCS game in the country.
4) All eyes will be on DJ McNorton another NDSU running back among the best in the nation
5) The FCS world will be anxious to see what schemes the NDSU BISON are employing and they will be taking notes to be sure.

About the only thing this game lacks is high stakes, but there is no higher stake than the BISON winning at the FFD.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Will this one be as huge on the national scene as say...Cal Poly @ Montana, or West Chester @ Delaware?

Cal-Poly at Montana will be big like this one. There will be a handful of big games (national interest), a larger group of games having regional interest (the lower 15 schools in the top 20), and then the rest.

I have taken some time to provide rebuttal:

1) Both schools have a long and successful football tradition.
No
JBB wrote:I have provided links to both schools at the begining of the thread. You should do a little research to avoid such unfortunate statements.

2) NDSU is a top ten national contender and this game will move the polls at the highest level
Wrong
JBB wrote:NDSU will go into the game in the top ten nationally
3) It will be a sellout and one of if not the biggest FCS game in the country.
Maybe
JBB wrote: It will be one of the five biggest games in the FCS
4) All eyes will be on DJ McNorton another NDSU running back among the best in the nation
No
JBB wrote:DJ McNorton is one of the best backs in the nation now. This year will be huge. Everyone in-tune with the game will watch his stats.
5) The FCS world will be anxious to see what schemes the NDSU BISON are employing and they will be taking notes to be sure.
No
JBB wrote:Smart coaches will all be interested in what Coach Bohl is doing, Good coaches will actually find out. Every coach with NDSU on the schedule will certainly be watching.

I think that the Bison have taken enough beatings from UNI that they don't believe they can win. Like with two ninjas, the fight is over before it begins.......

EXCITING NEWS FOR LAFAYETTE FANS AND FANS ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY:

I just visited http://www.gobison.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The game will be webcast. The video stream starts at 5.55 PM fargo time (remember to adjust for your local time zone). There will be a charge for the video.

The audio broadcast starts at 5.30 PM and is free. It will be a good pre-game broacast with a lot of in depth on both clubs.

Hey mlbowl, did you look up the traditionts of these schools as recommended? If so, Im sure you will agree that both schools can lay claim to rich football traditions. The Storied NDSU program has had more success on the national scene, naturally, but Layfeyette has had a long winning history as well.

Point of interest for BISON Fans: QB/Passing game.
JBB wrote:The weakness in the passing game is shown by the fact NDSU was last in the MVFC, conference games only, in 3rd down conversions. The only thing that kept that statistic from ruining the season was the fact The BISON were 2nd in opponents 3rd down conversions.
Points of interest for Leopard Fans: 3rd Dpwn Conversions/Passing game.
well known fact wrote:UNI, and you all know how they like to brag about their huge win over The BISON holding NDSU to -40 yds rushing, only managed 3 third down conversions on 12 tries in that game. They arent a very physical football team. Thats some film the Leopards should look at if they want to research a solution to NDSUs NFL like defense, especially on 3rd down plays.
JBB wrote:Another thing that kept NDSU strong last year, in a conference known for parity, was the #1 pass defense in the league.

Any game involving these teams is a REALLY BIG game:

Appalachian St.
Montana
Jackson St.
Old Dominion
Delaware
Ga. Southern
Jacksonville St.
James Madison
North Dakota St.
Florida A&M
Youngstown St.

The higher the stakes or a matchup inside the group and you start to see how the really big games will stack up against one another. For instance any team in that group playing NDSU, say Ga Southern for instance  , and you have the biggest of the big games.

After that you have a group of teams, depending upon opponent that will have big games, second page or maybe bottom of the first page type games. That group will include at least 1 more member of the MVFC, UNI.

After that you are looking at a host of games that might get some interest because of the team involved. EWU would be in that group. A big upset or some other factor distinguising the game from an ordinary Saturday might vault the game to national importance. Something like the BISON win at Montana is a great example.

That win was one of the FCS big games to begin with because Montana was in it. It was distinguished on the National Scene by the heralded upset factor when a D2 team, never mind the best D2 team in history, came into the "Big Stadium" and got stronger as the game wore on, finally over-coming a huge deficit and winning a physical battle late in the 4th like good, physical football teams do.

Yeah, YSU is really tearing it up. :jack:

ODU? 2nd season of football. :jack:

NDSU? FCS newbie with losing record that still can't break .500 in the weakest-ever MVC. :jack:

Yeah, you guys need to get outta this division quick before you do things like...

Have back to back winning seasons
Win a conference championship
Beat UNI
make it out of the qf's
Go undefeated
Finish with less than 5 losses

and really begin to dominate.

Lakes is actually the only one that does get it. Its not how good they are, some like NDSU are very good, these programs are huge in the FCS because they are the teams with 15,000 plus average/game, FBS programs in an FCS disguise.

So now you are claiming a FCS was down last year with EWU barely defeating the Idaho of FCS in a playoff game. :coffee:
